If you have any questions, just ask. I know the public assistance program because I am in it. I think it works pretty well... its just very embarrasing and annouying. Not to mention the privacy invation and hassle. Its still far better than welfare of yester-year.

I'd rather see food stamps provided as credit card type devices that can only purchase certain things. They're already doing this in some places and I think that is the way to go. from what I am experiencing now that is what it is. I get about 150 a month for food and I can get it at any goverm

... you know what is funny... if this is so clear, then why fly planes into a building or even, for that matter, come up with a world wide terrorist web? well, anyway, I'm still moving upstate.

I say, what is the point of being alive if your poor. You obviously made a mistake somewhere so just end it. Sadly, it seems, that I would have to be in a persistance vegitative state in order to get my wish. But since I am not, and assistaed suicide is illegal, I just have to keep taking from other people in order to eat, find a job and keeep it (because you need money to go to work for the first few weeeks before your first paycheck), medical coverage (I now have high blood p

I think the bottom line is a) not just the US believed that they had these weapons b) Saddam said or implide he had them c) Over 12 UN resolutions for open access to his coutry (big one here) The reality, for me, is that there was no way you could avoid all of this and still say you want to protect the US. Iraq just used its middle finger every time a UN resolution came around. We can't live in a world like th

BakerStreet: I see what your saying after reading it over again, but I still don't get then why the court decided in his favor? Why did court appointed doctors say she will not come out of this state? Why won't the supreme court take the case or even direct the lower court to re-value the case? Why, with the starving and lack of water issue, is the first of many findings fte Googling it say that she will most likely feel no discomfort?

[quote[No, that is opinion not fact. I can cite as many experts that says she has cognitive awareness and feels joy and sorrow! Why do you keep defending the indefensible? I dont know, but that is the rub! No one knows! So if we dont know, we just kill them? This is what I don't get: then why would the judge and the court apointed cotors say otherwise??? Why didn't the Supreme Court take the case if, in fact, the diognosis is wrong?</font

I would also like to remind many here that the war on crime had many people inprisoned based on one witness. Many go to jail based on one witness. Many bribe and kill the one witness. The one witness runs out of town.... The bottom line is that he was married to her and that makes his word have more wieght than her parents. Do you wish to have your parents word over you when you are unable to speak? You

This is a retort to what Frogboy said within an acticle about Terry Schiavo : [quote]In fact, why stop there? How about the people are incapable of feeding themselves without government subsidies? Billions are spent providing food to people who somehow have managed to screw up their lives to the point that

Hearsay is defined ast relating what another said. MS related that TS would not want to live that way. That is hearsay. Pure and simple. Nevertheless he is her husband and court follow what they say. Period. From money to children that had been how it goes. All he needed was to prove that he was her husband. The court suspects that he SHOU

Says who? The Wikipedia article (which might not be the perfect source, but it is a lot more precise that what I found elsewhere) says the following: Hospice staff describe Mr. Schiavo as a very supportive husband who berated nurses for not taking better care of his wife; in 1994 the hospice attempted (unsuccessfull

OK 2 things I disagree with One: she is being tortured byt starving to death Two: Most doctors who have examined Schiavo have concluded that she is in a persistent vegetative state One more thing that is inportant to understand: Married sposes have the last word, not reative or parents (in other words, he might not even have NEEDED witnesses to Ms Schiavo saying she would not want to live like this... his word was enough)

An XBOX shortage? Really? So does this mean people like the XBOX now? LOL It is moving upwards and onwards to the level of the Playstation? Did Halo2 create such an event where XBOX's become hard to get? One ponders and things of the future gaming system.... I other thoughts... --- I think games will find a new revenue stream and tha

well then I would add that the 3 branches of goverment is what it is all about. For the most part judges take the law as it is and states. There are examples of overturning that. Maybe some Jim Crow laws for example. It does happen, but for the most part it is left alone. This is a balance in action, I guess. A few days ago, whether extreme or not, the presidentail and congressional branches came together to try to change the
