Splash! - Computers - are you sure. I'd say both: Male >> not enough memory and impossible to figure out. (execpt for aliens like me) Female >> can do things right if nagged enough. But every mistake is commited to memory. somewhere there are a couple lists, i think 10 items each. one of why computers must be male, and the other of why computers must be female. i just dont know where i have put it <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/grim.gif" border=0

i would like to take exception to this! since i spent most of my english lessons failing to understand english spelling rules, i dont actually know what a "Noun" is, and am quite happy in my ignorance, before people start telling me my second objection is that school once inflicted french on me (as if i wasnt having enough fun with english), and that had gendered words. appart from

it looks like you are going to have to try stitching the link together to get it to work. failing that, just get to the windowblinds newsgroup via google groups, and do a search in that newsgroup for "starone", which should take you to the relivent thread.

lets have another go at this the last attempt at this posting locked IE *sigh* i will try and go home at some point to try this out. in the mean time, i have remembered there was a reply of potential interest on the newsgroups to this question: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=starone&hl=en&group=stardock.windowblinds.*&rnum=1&selm=4l921ugh0lijc9i8n0qsvjdd12sum6ousl%404ax.com just DONT try and post to the newsgroup via google. i have tried this before, but th

TheGreenReaper - Yeah, alpha-blending is nice. I'd just like to see it in WB borders. That would be cool with a big K (like that breakfast cereal people worship). /me thinks you have a MUCH faster machine than i do /me thinks people should stop worshiping breakfast cerials, and go back to worshoping chocolate and cats <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/bigsmile.gif" border=0 AL

craeonics - I must say _my_ cat is a lot faster/smarter than this one. /me didnt know that crae had a pussy /me wonders why i have never seen this cat in the basement i once scored 180 on an IQ test *giggle* /me wonders where the illistrated dictionary for beginers with prity alpha-blended pictures is /me wonders if crae's cat has made a bed out of it

Splash! - Hmmm. You're leaning. Well done. Cats DO have a brain. Hehehe. do you really want to have this conversation? worth pointing out that the human male is hardly renowned as a paragon of intelectual supremacy. that accolate is normaly reserved for the human female. anyway, cats work on a different scale <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/grim.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi

/me goes for irony++ i have been running windows fx on my win2k box at home for ages to achieve semi-transparent menus. i did try making ALL my windows semi-transparent once, but since it then took me 3 minutes to move my cursor across the machine with 5 stacked windows, i decided to leave that until i got a more powerful machine. /me achieves irony += 2 i spent part of the weekend playing with cursor xp, and making my windows cursors translucent, which is well cool. <br

i think i may finally have worked out what all the fuss is about alpha blending, but i would be interested in knowing if i am correct or not. i have recently downloaded the Logika skin for coolplayer, and am noticing that the curved edges are "steppy", on the scale of pixels by the looks of it. so, if the edges were instead alpha blended, would they seemlesly blend into the "background"? /me considers it ironic that i have been watching this term thrown around for well

are the cursors you are using solid colours? i am using the "Wired" set, which are basically blue with white wires, and i have recoloured them to be red. personally i think the re-colouring worked very well, making the blue bodies red, and leaving the white wires white. so, i would guess to achieve what you are after you would want unifomly coloured cursors to start with. what about the gold cursors? from memory they are a fairly uniform colour.

i think i may be back, but only just inquiries? i think management seem to be taking the spanish inquisision as the inspiration for their enquities stratergy anyway, i was playing around with WB on my win98 machine over the weekend. i had some problems upgrading to WB3, but eventually got WB 3.09 working. however, when i tried your skin i didnt get any smartbar buttons at all???!!! i think i need to grab some of the info from this thread, and get it to that

perhaps you should consider a slightly safer sport, at least 1 week in 2? /me recormends racing maltesa's small, fairly round, not to much chocolate, and which ever is slower of the course gets eaten. soon you will be able to bread extramly fast chocolates due to the wonders of evolution

i have just posted a request for help on the windowblinds newsgroup, asking for helpful people to join us here, since i cannot post to the newsgroups from work. hopefully that will help

starone - The only problem at your end in this experiment is that if you don't have WB3, the smartbars may be included in that version only. I can't remember if it shows in 2.2. well, i have just tried adding your smartbar stuff to my athenda skin, and NOTHING happened with it. may as well have not been there for all the effect it had. there is still hope of activity in the other thread though <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid

i have been working with starone to try and trace down a problem with smartbars on her new WB3 skin, see the "Help with Object Bar" thread for the gory details. i am trying to use plugin dll's with WB directly, to test things, but when i directly call the quickl.wbp dll from WB 2.21b, it doesnt work, and when i call it directly from WB 3 (a per-application skin on notepad), notepad crashes big time. so, i think we need some help on what is going on with the dll's. also

i am not sure, since this smart bar works on my win2k machine fine. i think i will fire off a thread about plug-in dll's tommorow, after i have tried to make smart bars work in wb 2.21b on a different front, i have just tried my modifed athenda skin on notepad on my win2k machine, using wb 3.00. NOT a good idea it turns out, since this totaly crashed notepad! i think you (and i) should stick to experimenting with per-application skins! definetly looking like we are g

starone - Did the above and it went spastic. Had to go to safemode to fix it. Then went back and added the info about the smartbar and the extra button with smart.dll. Brought it up just fine, but the programs still launched in Object Edit. /me *EEEK* i was using my experimental skin as a per-application skin for notepad only, which i would recormend under the circumstances. i will have a go at sticking in the smartbar info tommorow, and see. however, since i am running WB

when i try this, i get a corrupted graphic on the button, and it doesnt seem to do anything can you try this on WB3, and let me know what happens? i have simply added this block to the athenda skin: [Button4] ; button to test quick launch menu plugin Align=1 XCoord=100 YCoord=5 Action=-3 ButtonImage=athenda\min.bmp Visibility=1 ; DllName=athenda\W
