Actually, this was not a followup issue. i wasn't saying it was, but usually when this topic comes up and when my income and the amount of tax comes into the discussion, i am usually asked about my willingness to have taxes raised. so, i guess i was being pre-emptive, lol. but yeah, you are right about the indexing and it's sneaky and almost criminal, imho. and most people don't even realize how they get slammed on payroll taxes.

i had no problem with our taxes this or any other year. got a 9K+ return from the fed and like 100 or so from the state. ...i don't remember which child credits we got this year, as i have a tax accountant who does my famiy taxes. and to answer an inevitable follow up question,,,i have no problem with bush (or any other president in the future) raising my taxes, as long as i feel comfortable about the plan for use with the money.
