I say put them on trial and hang those who are terrorists. Guantanamo is giving me the impression that the US is soft on terrorism. Let's have a conclusion here.

I cannot: 1. Type on a keyboard with two fingers.I've been trying for years. 2. Remember Arabic phrases easily. I think it's my age. 7 years ago I learnt Portuguese with ease. 3. Give up smoking! 4. Listen to Liza Minelli. Makes me cringe! 5. Drive in Cairo even though I'm a good driver. 6. Master my cellphone. I grew up with landlines!

I try to lead my life along certain guidelines. Not because I want to be perfect or have a clear conscience. The rules I live by have been formed by my life experience. It has taken almost sixty years to realise that I am basically a mammal with an advanced brain ---and I need to explore that brain to improve my life and that of those around me. I have sinne

Well, all I can say is: I'm glad JU is up and running again. My typing fingers were getting itchy there. I love to blog and think JU is great. Missed it---glad it's back!

Bird Flu has been found in Egypt and, as expected, the locals are in a panic. The little farmyard fowl is having his throat cut as I speak, as are the turkey, duck and pigeon cousins. There are rumours that KFC will be out of business within a week. Supermarkets are girding up their loins for an attack on their frozen chickens and eggs. Will their stocks be dumped on

With tongue firmly in cheek here are the items I envisage for sale on " J-Bay" next week. It has been a traumatic two weeks so there are plenty of items on sale: * 10 tons of Lurpak butter--slightly rancid--bargain. * 20 charred desks--ex-Danish Embassies. * 1 George Bush dummy--slightly singed. * 2 shotgun pellets----ex -Dick Cheney. * 13 Syr

The USA is probably the greatest marketing nation in the World. No trick is missed, no possible sale ignored. It is a positive economy with an agreeable consumer public. I admire the way companies keep after a possible sale (though you may not!), and have the sophisticated machinery in place to do that. I hope Joeusers (especially the US bloggers),will c

As a South African I have always felt empathy for every Zimbabwean. The past ten years must have been hell for them. Their farms (once grain and tobacco producers, bar none) are now tilled (non-tilled?) by ex-war veterans who would not know a shovel from a pitch fork. Their currency has become a laughable 78 000 Zimdollar to the US dollar. Their unemployment

The US is blamed for everything. No matter that it gives the most aid to countries all over the World. No matter that if someone is in deep crappola, uncle George will bail him out. This is something that continues to amaze me as a non-citizen. If people can't be thankful for their daily bread, cut it off. Let them feel how it is to cut a hungry throat. At Christmas we say thanks for presents---many third World countries spit at the grain bags, then ea

I have written before about "the cartoons" and I still feel they were insensitive and insulting AT THIS TIME. However, I need to point out some things that worry me. Firstly, without offending Joeusers asa whole, I find that American readers are being overly vitriolic about Muslims in general. I feel that instead of fanning the flames, some of us could be add

I know I have blogged before on the insensitivity of these cartoons, and I stand by my views, but I am shocked by the reaction to this in some cities of the Middle East. I have three points: -Surely security in defense of these embassies could have been better? Is there a third agenda? -Denmark was a leader in fighting apartheid in South Africa. Has everyone forgotten this? -The Muslim youth are quickly agitated and apt to become over-

Dear Joeusers, Here is my list of the World's most wanted men. Please add or delete as you feel, but please compile your own list too. Comment, whether positive or negative, is most welcome. But please let's debate the list. My list is based on the following criteria: * Failure to lead your nation responsibly, by forcing the people into poverty a

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE" towards change and or moving these regimes out? I have lived in Zambia, South Africa, Lesotho, Angola and Egypt. I personally have maintained good relations with all their peoples. As far as moving them out is concerned, if the US couldn't do it, how could I? Anyway, a jail cell in most African countries is as close to Hell as anyone can get!
