A load of drama over a load of nothing. It's just a website. Seems some folks are treating this like the second coming of Melrose place.

I'm hoping they don't decide to carry over the endearing feature of explorer crashing when a folder is opened and it has jpg's set to thumbnail view. It's a known issue which they even mention on the MS site, yet 2 service packs down the road and unmpteen bug fixes and I still find myself having to delete jpg's from a command window just to access the folder.
Paint Shop Pro is much cheaper than Photoshop and you can achieve excellent results with it.
What do I do if it starts playing piano?
I'd prefer to see ObjectBar for the Mac. I'd love to have the OSX finderbar on mine....
Hey, it's a free forum Tim. You should be free to voice any opinion on a skin you like. If the person who receives it is greatly offended, by what I feel was a perfectly valid comment, then the problem is theirs and their ego. Besides, unlike a lot of people out there who post throwaway comments on skins, you have years of experience, and you can back up your words with a huge tome of works which has a consistently high standard throughout. I wouldn't lose sleep over if if I was you, mate.
WOWFactor - Don't think for a second that others besides myself find your lack of the ability to type correctly annoying. Personally I find your jibes at others more annoying. Don't see what they have to do with the subject of the thread. And I'm sure that WOWFactor will be pleased to here that no-one besides you finds his/her typing annoying.
Must've been a quiet day at the pot and kettle factory today.
Chances are people would upload other's fonts as their own, which is harder to chase down than skins rips, since there's not too many font experts around these parts who can spot a 'borrowed' one right away. Or the most likely scenario these days "This is a font for 'insert OS, game or program here', ported by me".
I used to use Ultimate-Guitar.com too, although I use http://www.911tabs.com/ these days. Their engine searches all tab sites in one go, so you can almost always find what you need.
If it's the 50MB download cap prompt you're reffering to, check your account options here on the site, and look for the option that let's you cross-reference your Stardock and WC accounts. Once you do that, you should have no further problems with it.
if you open the Start menu and click on the user-pic, it'll open a dialog to allow you manually set one.
There was a really excellent theme released for the Mac recently called Kamino which is based on Storm trooper armour. The way the skinning scene works, we can no doubt expect the WB port of the Msstyle port to be uploaded at some point soon.
I would definitely reccomend Mandrake, Terry, if you haven't tried that yet. It's a great distro and very good for new users of Linux to learn the basics in. Plus it's also available as one of those 'live' CD based distro's as well, so you can try it before installing to see if it suits you.
I'd like a beer tap in Photoshop.
I don't believe such an app exists, but if you're using Windows XP, in the taskbar options you can turn on 'taskbar grouping' which should help a bit.
I saw a screenshot on Deviantart posted by ShockerTeam3D and he was using the PDC build of Longhorn and had ObjectDock+, Iconpackager and DX all running on it.
And using numbers instead of letters is just annoying and not at all 'elite'.
You have to read the Litestep docs thouroughly before skinning it. The modular design of it means each module has a differing layout/configuration, so each dll will usually come with detailed text file explaining the processes for each. I've actually made 1 litestep theme by working through the documentation. It isn't too hard if you follow the directions as best you can, and it was also very enjoyable the first time I loaded the theme up and it worked.
I usually get my pizzas from Domino's, then put them in another box and resell them as my own, with permissions of course.
It's virus e-mails, that are self replicating. Someone you know has been infected and their system, unkown to them, is replicating the virus and sending it out to people in their adress books, and it spoofs the senders adress using someone else's adress from the same book. If you opened the attatchments, you have been infected also.
I was speaking with someone yesterday on this subject, and I hope he won't mind me stealing his point of view, which I agreed with. Porting from something like Winamp and taking it to WB, or going from WB to Litestep, like in jafo's example, is a great way to port. But converting one format into a very similar format, like one desktop enhancer to another, or Msstyles to WB is really pushing it. And porting removes the incentive to improve your skills. How many porters out there have actually
"this should be a community and there is no place for ego imo" That should be true, and it would be better for the skinning scene if it was, but it's like saying 'This is a big world and we shouldn't have wars'. It's a nice thought, but sadly it won't ever happen. As long as people can put stuff in the public domain, and receive those precious comments in return, ego will always come into it.
Think Desk is a new forthcoming suite of applications that are designed to increase productivity in Windows. One of the programs is already available from the Stardock site, called Multiplicity, and it allows you to control a 2nd PC from another using only 1 keyboard/mouse and monitor.
"I still value originality over imitation any day of the week" Amen to that. Even my dog can use marquee tools and copy/paste.
