I'm still playing my 2.0 test game on an excessive galaxy and things seem to be going well enough for my tastes. I still have the highest influence of all the civs, though it's not as easy to flip planets as it was before, it still hasn't hampered my ability to kick AI butt and make them jealous of my wonderful civilization. ;)

I just got the Dread Lords event in my latest game. I was already about 200+ turns into it and had a good base setup with plenty of planets. They appeared next to one of my binary planet systems that was all built up but geared for research on both planets. They only had two ships which I killed within 4 turns. Built a transport within 3 more turns and invaded them. End of story. It was the most anti-climatic experience I've had with them and I've had probably close to 15 encounters w

Huh, that's a pretty good trick! I haven't been going the benevolent route in quite some time, tend to be more of a pragmatic kind of guy with a bit of malevolence and benevolence thrown in here and there... Will have to try that out in my next game!

Based on my game play/observations, the AI has no issues going after resources but since 2.0 they seem a little less interested in artifacts and anomalies and I think this is intentional so players won't get too frustrated by having the AI gobble up all the artifacts. They do go for the anomalies but not as often as the resources. I usually play with gifted AI, though my first play through with 2.0 was on normal to see what changes I could notice with the AI so this may have some affect o
Since in my game there were several identical ships it could not be mercenaries. Also I can tell the difference [e digicons];)[/e]
Hey, didn't mean to imply that you couldn't! :D Just wanted to rule that out as I see it in my games.

My belief why this was done was to hamper the player a little bit so that we can't build as large of fleets with as many of the largest ships because the AI is not as adept as us flesh bags... a way to try and even things up and maybe lessen the snowball/cakewalk that the late game tends to be for the human players. All IMHO of course, I may be totally wrong, but that's my story and I"m sticking to it! ;)

For those seeing large/huge ships early game, if you have the Mercenaries DLC enabled, make sure that those ships aren't hired mercenaries. In my games when I'm seeing this happen, more often than not it is a hired gun.

Wow, you do have a good streak of luck there. ;) I've played 2700+ hours since it was released to the founders and have encountered them about 5x so far. My settings are all on default generally. I, too, got pissed off when it looked like they were focusing on me whether I was the aggressor or not. But I found that my fleets were more than a match for them almost every time they appeared. Yes, they can be a prick in your side but they are usually easily defeated after a certain poin
Really can't wait for you guys to get your hands on this. I'm enjoying it as a psuedo-beta tester (sorry, not a public closed beta) and think it's really going to make this game significantly b better!
Dude, you're so cruel! ;) Especially to us Founders... The first part of your nick is very appropriate! ;)

Wow! [e digicons]8C[/e] I don't know what has changed but whatever it was it nerfed the heck out of one of my custom races! This race had a bunch of intelligence and was able to start the game with having a few techs you can choose to have researched right away. After the current changes this race doesn't even get one tech researched! So to the trash bin this race goes as that was one of its' main perks being able to start off a little tech heavy... Wasn't pleased to di
2.0 is now live! Please enjoy and we'd love to hear your feedback.
Have you made the launcher optional yet? Please do so! Having had to do a reinstall I am now subjected to the launcher each and every time I go to launch the game. I have no need nor desire for it and would really appreciate it being made into an option. Thanks for putting up with my rant!

Great to read that the patch is working well for most so far. Out of curiosity, has that annoying little issue of not being able to select a project to "build" when buildings are qued up and you then go to select Economics or Military, for example? Thanks. Can't wait to try this out tonight!
