Iran retracted its statement that they'd like to see Israel wiped from the map. From the BBC: Iran says it has no intention to attack Israel despite a call by its president to have it "wiped off the map". Iran's foreign ministry said Tehran respected the UN charter and had never used or threatened to use force. But it also rejected a UN Security Counc

Apparently Sylvester Stallone hasn't rid himself of every shred of decency. Earlier this week, it was announced that Stallone was going to start in Rocky VI . Well, today, it was announced that he would star in <a href="http://news.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=us/6-2-0&fp=43637f7eee103
I could speak to her personally, I'd tell her to go home and honor her son by getting on with her life... Hey Cindy, maybe your three kids that are still at home could use a mother aga
I am going to play Devil's Advocate: Ummm... Nope, I got nothing. No logical response to Kerry's blather, other than the automatic gainsaying of "Bush was wrong then and he is equally wrong now, but only more so."
Awww, what a great story. It's wonderful to be a parent, huh? Especially when they suprise you by making you proud. Good luck to Davey on his big trip to State. I work with a lot of ex-military (mostly Air Force) now, most of whom retired after doing their twenty. It's inspiring to hear that so many people excel in the military. I really look up to them, and know that my piddly six years may have also done some good, but it wasn't twenty.
I am very thankful no one ever came to the door with a sacrificed cat in hand, butt naked, or with some weird quasi-pagan paraphrenalia. Just boring old Church of England types, mostly "no thanks, we go on Christmas and Easter". That's where I realized that in C of E, the C and the E must stand for Christmas and Easter.
Lost comment... have a great time. Hope you do everything you want to while you're there. And that could include anything. So, all together now... Say it with me, people! "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!"
My point is that Leahy was playing with words. He said there was no Democrat opposed to her going before the committee. Not that there was no Democrat opposed to HER. And no, Jesus would be seen as too soft on crime. (Remember the woman caught in adultery? How about him forgiving his Roman floggers? Or the thieves that would be with him in paradise?)
what was the name of that group you had on CD that did Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire as an acapella chorale? Umm, yeah... that's way off topic. That was the Bobs, it was from the album "The Bobs Sing the Songs of..." And it wasn't a chorale, it was a quartet. <a href="http://www.bobs.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) blasted Miers’s responses to a standard Judiciary Committee questionnaire, which was submitted yesterday. “The questionnaire was bipartisan and reasonable, but the answers are disappointing, spare and unilluminating,” said Schumer, who is a junior member of the Judiciary Committee and

On my way home from work today, I heard an interview with Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) who claimed that not one Democrat had ever been opposed to Miers going before the confirmation process. All right, blogosphere, do your stuff. Confirm or deny that statement!
I'd love to hear about some Tracting stories, there must be some Doosies. Well, my favorite story was when my companion and I knocked on the door of a recently-defrocked Anglican Vicar. He'd been judged by his local parish council to be unfit to lead the parish because he'd been divorced. He wasn't in
Woo-hoo! Let's hear it for non-disparaging Mormon-talk in an otherwise inhospitable setting. Gotta be honest, AngelaMarie, you ain't gonna hear much disparaging talk about Mormons on this blog. Except maybe for Utah Mormons. <a href="http://singrdave.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=66014
I guess my point is that if Xena, Sedna, and Quahog (wait a minute, that's the name of the town from Family Guy ) can't be labeled as planets, then Pluto shouldn't be either. Since Pluto is of middling size compared with these other outer-solar objects, which are also round and (in Xena's case) have visible moons. We either have twelve moons or we have eight.
As for my prediction, it is sealed on JU and will be opened when the next justice is sworn in. I wrote it a month ago. We will see if I am stupid, or sly! I must have piscine halitosis, because I wait with "baited" breath. I can hardly wait to hear who you have, in future retrospe

Harriet Miers has withdrawn her nomination, which causes all who care about judicial integrity to breathe a collective sigh of relief. While I did not publish my opinion here on JU, I am very happy that the sycophantic, fawning Miers, who had no judicial experience whatsoever, has been retracted as a nominee for a Supreme Court Justiceship.
