When I change my dock icons, I go to "Dock Entry Properties"..."Change Image"...the down to "Browse for an image...". Is there a way to add to the "Folders" menu the folder that I store my icons in?

I spend a lot of time playing mmorpgs. There are 3 that I have in my "Games" dock drawer. Silkroad, Rohan and Archlord. I found a nice icon for Silkroad. Rohan hasn't reached open beta yet but I'd love to have an icon that doesn't look like someone left a drawing in the rain. (yeah, theirs is that ugly and distorted) Archlord's icon is one of the company that makes/peddles it. Anyone willing to show them how it's done? Right now I'm just using a cropped pic of the names. I would appreciate it g

That's a surprisingly tough question. I have a very specific look that I try to achieve. It seems no one (authors) shares the same vision. I have very light sensitive eyes so I have to go dark. Understandably, authors mix it up so I have to cherry pick from many artists. The WB that is a mainstay is JJ Ying's Ecliz Deluxe 2. (Before that was Ecliz.) So I'll have to have him among the top. D. Arnaez has icons all over my machine. I'm also fond of alot of Messiah1's docks and RCs. Though I can't

Living out in the boondocks, we didn't have internet service. I spent all my spare time playing pc games. When I moved into the city, jumped at the chance to get connected to this here inter-web thingy. When I did, one of my old(?) games "encouraged" me to register. I then found Stardock. As I browsed around I found this cool concept called skinning and followed another link. A couple of my favorite hobbies are drawing and tinkering with computers. I remember seeing my first color monitor an

I use SuperAntiSpyware as well. I also use Spybot and AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido). I scan at least once a week with each. Super (which I use last)has never found anything, Spybot seldom finds anything. AVG (used first) usually takes care of anything found. It's a rare occasion that anything is found at all though. I sometimes wish they WOULD ALL find something just to let me know they work ;p.
It would seem it's working.
Exactly. I'm one of the masses that have the "wait and watch" attitude. XP does all I need due to all the little apps that I put in it. Most of my favorite freeware hasn't been updated yet. This announcement is a big step in the right direction.
wheres the link to the documentation?
Here's a good place to start. I just read an intersting article on Microsoft loosening it's grip on Vista in order to allow developers to create a more user friendly atmosphere. Though I have zero talent or abilities regarding coding and programming, I find this to be a bit exciting. It just might make me consider buying Vista after all. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Here's the article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23275439

Before I purchased OD Plus and started using it exclusively to launch and monitor apps, I used a an application called "Visual Task Tips". When hovering over an open task in the system tray, you can see a mini screenshot of the app. The author says there is a limitation that you can't see minimized screens but I've used it to peek in on Emule (that was minimized.) I didn't realize just how much I used it until I hid the taskbar. My question - Is there any way that I can get th

As suggested in this thread, I have installed SoundPackager through SDC. I have installed, un-installed (themes and all using the SDC uninstall feature) used CCleaner and swept my registry. Rebooted, used CCleaner again (it found more) rebooted..reinstalled, and still the same issue. Every time it loads the packages, it crashes. I went into the SP folder to see if I could delete the packages that come with it, but I couldn't find them. I us XP with SP2. I have never been able to load a packag

Thank you 'Po Smedley! These are great. I'm sure I'll be using these for a very long time. I'll be converting them for use as icons as well. (one of the FEW things I know how to do with Paint.net.)

I have been looking for a couple of OD icons for a while now. I've tried to make them, but I'm just not that talented. If anyone would like to take a stab at the two I'm looking for, I'd appreciate it. Orbit Downloader and ExtractNow. All of the icons I tend to prefer have a darker/shiny/transparent feel to them. A big thanks to all that try.

The problem won't go away!. Every time I reboot it converts back to windows classic or XP standard blue. I've tried everything I can find throughout the web. (reinstalling, drivers, etc) Windowblinds isn't loading on startup. Wallpaper stays. Icons and cursorxp loads. I go through windowblinds, theme manager, display settings through xp, it always converts to classic. Eventually, I can load windowblinds (or at least the theme I want) but after reboot, I have to do it all again! Someb

OK, after uninstalling/reinstalling the Radeon driver and setting theme to XP Style (standard settings) I can then reload WB settings. BUT, when rebooting, it always goes back to Windows Classic Style. Am I missing a check somewhere? I just don't see what I can do!

44 Replies 13,694 Views

Just as I presumed, after reboot it converted back to classic mode. I've tried looking at my settings, tried changing themes is Theme Manager, windowblinds and through Appearance and Themes, and display. Nothin doin. So here's my windowblinds info. I hope to get help soon! This is so ugly to look at! WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report: STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+ WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.<b

weird. I just loaded the skin through theme manager and it worked. But I did get the "desk.cpl" error. Now I'm just afraid to reboot again. It's not fixed, I'm sure, but I am getting somewhere.

Personally I like the plainer ones. Color ruined some great ones (for me) but since I haven't learned to customize any of them, I have to stick with the plain ones. from wb 4. I liked assosiate no 6 now I use dreamland. Which is as plain as it gets. BUT I can easily change wallpaper for color! Though solids work a bit better with it.

I too am having a similar (exact) problem. When applying dreamland it turns to that boring 95ish or safe mode looking. (I am sure it is just a coincidence my stardock membership expires next week.) I believe that the problem is with my radeon 9250 drivers and display settings and not within windowblinds. after messing with the multiple display settings, and updating the radeon driver, i got mine to skin right. BUT, after doing some other apps updates, (non display related) I had to re
