TW please give me an example or two of teacher questions. You asked some pretty good questions...many of which I could actually answer about my kiddos...but its not really part of a conversation to ask them how much laundry they do...etc. Also...I took this and tweaked it a little as many of what you said also applies to us teachers. Your children ARE my job. I have 30 precious children that have been entrusted to me, and they are

I think it is funny how you keep characterizing this situation in ways that I never portrayed it. How did I do this. You said she had a concern and voiced it...you got up and walked away. Also...by the way....Im sure you know this already...but kids act differently in school. Not always good, not alw

Baker, she talked to you...she had a concern. She surely was NOT labeling your child. You wanted, by your own words, her to wait for 3 months until you had proof in your hands. She talked to you and said something that was on her mind and you automatically label it as a life altering, life changing suggestion...as if your daughter is going to be thrown into a padded room. If I didnt ask questions, then what kind of job would I be doing? What would

Dr Guy, right, the C++ was a bad example. Facts are only a small part of what I teach. If I taught only facts, then I would be doing a very poor job as a teacher. While I dont teach the knowlege...I help them attain the skills they need to understand and comprehend that knowlege.

Give you a real benchmark for how a child is doing in school, as opposed to gambling their welfare on guesses and egomania. This isn't congeniality class. Guesses? Isnt there a statistic out there that doctors make a guess __% of the time? I dont think the teacher saw you and said to her self "oh yeah...I

Sorry, making lots of replies here, found this and wanted to reply to it. While they may know a lot, they dont have real world experience and that cant be found in a text book or a classroom. Right....and a common phrase you hear in education is that "you will learn more on your first day in your c

I have sat in on a class that my daughter was in to understand what the teacher sees, but I have yet to have a teacher be able to see what I do. True...and very few can see / understand what a teacher does / goes through. Id say its safe to say that its the same for both sides. FS, I really l

Teachers work for us. We are their employers. I wouldn't let an employee give me the kind of attitude that you, Ziggy apparently have towards parents. Teachers work for us, not the other way around. yeah...and if this is true...then if I buy a stardock product...that means you are employed by me as

I guess we are to believe that you blindly post articles to the forums without ever even looking at the forums, or perhaps you were so busy that when you checked to make sure your own article posted properly, you just didn't see your own name in the title of this one, in spite of the fact that they were right next to each other f

~notes that ziggy has yet to respond, in spite of the fact that he attempted to divert this discussion onto a thread of his own.~ And Im supposed to know she wrote this article two days ago....how? Ooohh...divert this dicsussion? Didnt know I was trying to do that. I talk about my examples with parents wh

The following is an article I recieve from an educator...Steven Simpson. He writes an article and you can find it at: http://www.edbriefs.com/ He used to write about education news. Now he writes his own commentary on education topics. As some of you know...my girlfriend Marcie wrote an article talking about her dealings with parents, both th

Oh...and let's not forget that in Biblical times (not that Scientology has anything to do with the Bible), that being engaged had the same legal status as did marriage itself... So...if we transfer that to modern times...then being engaged is as good as being married so hey baby...let's shag!

I'm sure there's some other explaination for this other than sex. Tom Cruise? Oversexed? NEVER! Like we need another ranting idiot in the world (and I mean ranting like you think you know everything and that other's opinions don't count)!

Dudette...put your money into a house...that way you can build equity and your credit, etc...that way if you and Dave want to purchase property and build when he retires you'll be set. I wish we could do that...we just have to save for at least a little bit of a down payment or at least the closing costs... It's so depressing.

(It's MH again). I guess I don't know that much about CPS. I've never had to deal with them, and honestly, I hope I never have to. I'm also not a parent. I just think that people should have the right to raise their children as they see fit, as long as those children have their basic needs fulfilled. Are Gid's kids not being educated? No. Are they not being fed? No. Are they sleeping in cages? No. It's Gid's and Mrs. Gid's ch

Is your pain continuous? Or just occasional? My mom has severe rheumatoid arthritis as well as severe osteoarthritis. Her feet and elbows are severely disfigured, and more and more joints become achy for her every year. She continues to work a job that requires her to be on her feet for most of her shift. In order to do this, she needs pain medications as well. I *believe* many of them are narcotic (which worries me), and her rheumatolo

K~ *HUGS* I think it's great that you're being so concientious about your meds and just listening to your body. I also hope that you're feeling MUCH better really soon. As for your birth mother situation--I don't know what to say. I can't imagine the emotions you might be feeling at this juncture. I think that you have the emotional constitution to get through whatever this situation might bring, as well as the good sense to know

How do you live, dabe? You must feel so horrible about yourself that you choose another group to bash to make yourself feel better about yourself. You're missing out on lots of interesting, enlightened people by all this political labeling and grouping. Do you have ANY republican people in your life? Therapy. You need good therapy.

You know, I have noticed that both times I have commented to you and Marcie (on her stupid parents article and this one, your article), neither of you acknowledged my comments (and some of which were very positive). Hello all, Well this should be interesting. I had an idea after reading a post or reply on Dharmas website about what a teacher said (according to the students). She said someting to the effect of how the classroom was hers and not the kids. That brought me back to this past summer when I was setting up the room with the intention of changing

Not only did you respond NINE times, each and every one of them was a freaking epistle, paragraph after paragraph of repetition, denial, and irrelevant personal details. Yeah, I know you have a problem with my replies. Keep forgetting to simplify it. I do tend to lengthen things out because I give example
