Damn miler, that's harsh. Ted, How does Professor Idiot (Churchill) factor into the original post? Spin spin spin Ted...And irrelevant as well. The point of the matter is that the US government ignored or disregarded the threat for years. It wasn't just the current administration. For years Washington used hindsight when it came to airline security. Unfortunately, it took the deaths of almost 3,000 people to open their eyes.

Disrespect, plain and simple. Soldiers go where they're ordered to go. You would think people would know the difference by now. Good post Guy.

The chinese have proven over the years they have a sub-par military for a country of their size. The only thing they have is numbers...Lots and lots of numbers.

We were in Subic Bay since the end of the Spanish American War. (with the exception of the time the Japanese held it during WW2 of course) It was closed during the base closure days of the 90's. The base was closed due to the end of the Cold war, and expansions of existing bases in Guam, and Okinawa. Basically it was rendered obsolete. That puts it just shy of 100 years. Twice as long as we had troops in Europe for the Cold War and WW2. That's a long time. The US wi

How many of you have seen the new layout around these parts? I for one like it! Faster, sleeker, and better graphics. I give it high marks. One question? Is there any way to filter out the obvious junk users around here? like "Orrin whathisname", and "meeting swingers", and a few others. One of the things i really like about JU is the fact we don

Swing and a miss Guy! It's right on topic! How can you say that the GOP's hands are clean here? What the GOP is doing to Harry is disgusting. But it's pretty much business as usual for them.

(shaking head) Guy, Guy, Guy..... I wouldn't be talking about any politician being owned by corporate america when dubya lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Sorry man, i had to say it!

Maybe if the repubs didn't assume the dems would go blindly along with dubya they could get something done. Since were on the subject of the english language, here's one for you...Compromise? EVERY president in recent history knows the definition of this word. dubya on the other hand... The current administration has no concept of the definition. This is what upsets the dems. The arrogance behind the notion that the right is...Well..

LBJ was a crook. I hardly think he fits in our ideal dem catagory. The Civil Rights Act was a carryover from JFK. Even LBJ said so. I have to take issue with Dr Dean leading the DNC. He's far to liberal for the job if the party is trying to center itself. He is the epitome of what's wrong with the left. I would prefer Wel Webb (ex-Denver mayor) or even Bill Richardson. But i think Bill has higher aspirations.

As a joke, i used to keep a copy of the first edit of "The Stand" (approx 2,000 pages) on my toilet tank. I have also toyed with a design of the ultimate bathroom. What are the amenities you ask? Welllll... A heated cushioned toilet seat w/adjustable leg rest 40 inch plasma HD TV w/ Bang and Olufsen theater system, & digital cable/sat. w/DVD/Tivo, & PS2/X-box. Wireless high speed w/VoIP phone. Mini fridge & mi

Movies from comics rarely come off right. For every "Spiderman" there's a "Hulk", "Punisher" and "Judge Dredd" (that last one hurt, i was a huge Dredd fan until that godawful movie with Stallone came out.) Stan Lee once said that the reason he didn't start selling his characters to hollywood back when DC did it in the 80's was because he felt that the CG technology just wasn't there yet to d
