Here's a guide to all Racial Relationship types, and what they mean for those who are new to the Galactic Civilizations Series, or a refresher for old players. This is catagorized from worst to best relationships. Permanent War- You hate each other so much that the only way to settle your differences to have only one of the two or more civilization be the soul surviver. You can't make peace treaties, nor never trade with that civilization(s). Worst possible relationship status. This m

Definitely a bug, unless you clicked that tile that the starport was on and accidently hit the decommission button? Or think that you may have thought that you had another tile selected, and hit decommission by mistake. If not then it is definitely a bug. I would check this out though, and be careful of which tile your building on, and check what's there before you hit that decommission, or upgrade button! I haven't had this problem, so I'm suspecting a mistake on your part and not a bug, but ot

To run a game in cheatmode, select "Start" from desktop, and then select "Run" Once you click "Run" a command line pop up should appear. Once it does type in the following "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat" (everything in quotations is correct, you need the quotations too when you copy and paste this to the command line. Once you have done this, then click ok to run the game in cheat mode. This is the only way you can activate cheat mode that I know of.

You have to attack an enemy ship, to declare war your self. I wish there was a feature like the AI has which allows them to delcare war on you even if they are far away from you, and can't blow something up that is yours. Another way to have war is be the opposite Alignment of the civilization you want to attack, and keep asking for tribute. Then let you military drop just short of their's but not too low or you won't be able to defend yourself. Then build up and you have war. Still wish that th

I found the Device it's a long name so here it goes... Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics controller. Is any of this familar to any of you. That's the best I could come up with by looking at my computer's hardware. it seems it's some kind of Device driver, and I've tried rolling back but nothing. Updating, didn't help either as it's the most up to date already. Is there another issue, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Yea, great feature Stardock! With all the structures, and parts and haul design, I was able to build a replica of the ID4 Mothership, and called it the "Vampire" It's terrorfying, and super tough, the bad thing is their super expensive, but worth it. I got to see my ship in action, and it kicks AI butt. I spent an entire hour, just designing one ship, and I would of done more, but It was a school night and I had limited time! Now my excuse for not getting to bed on time, is, "I'm not in bed on t

I'm having problems with my Intel Graphics card, I don't exact;y know what it is, but It's not more then two years old, and it was updated by Microsoft update in June 05, and there's no new device drivers for it. Does anyone know what I could do? I'm luck if I can play a half or more before it crashes on me. The most luck I ever had was about 4 hours, but never beat that since. Any tips, ideas, help, or advise? My computer is a Dell Dimension 2400 PC with intel pentium four processor and Windows

Yea, it sucks I got to hand it to ya, but that isn't all that bad. In fact It's a good thing! It means that the AI plays much better then before in GCI. In GCI I could set the AI to intelligent and even without cheating I could still win by colonizing all the good planets I found, and getting a military strong enough. In GCII It plays more agressively toward me then before. I always play as evil, so I know that's a factor, but even in GCI when I played evil the AI was all bluff and no play. In t

How would I go about doing that in Microsoft paint? I need a step by step proceedure. I don't have any other paint/graphic programs. and I want to size down the vampire picture from a 500x350 down to the size shown. I also need to know how to save it as a .png from a .fpg image. As well as getting into the right folder in the gfx folder. I know I may sound redundant, but I want to make sure I don't screw up somewhere. All help is appreciated. Thanks,

I've ran in to similar issues playing a custom race. The morale dropped to 39% and then started to find new entertainment technologies and building economic structure and bam the morale/approval jumped to 85-90% in about a few months time. This maybe another minor bug in the game, or it's just a warning saying you need to build more economic structures. I also think your races rank in the galaxy has something to do with it as well as when my approval was lowest I was 18th in power in the galaxy

Yea, I know. Habitable planets aren't distrubuted very evenly. There will be systems with all Class 0 (Undead worls) while others may hyave 3 planets or more that are very good planets class 9 or higher. I've even found a star system that was bright yellow with all planets above class 10. So it's all random, but I think it could still have been more distrubuted a bit more. Yes both my setting where on Abundant, both number of planets, and habitable planets in a huge galaxy.

Yea, I know. The download has finally made it's way here to St. Louis in CST (central Standard time) at 4:30PM. If the East doesn't have it yet, just wait another half hour to hour, and it will be at your zone too. I think this is to help keep some traffic down, but It isn't helping that greatly. The East will have it the worst because that's where most of the population lives per square mile. Here in the plains and midwest it's much, much lower, so I'm getting loaded up very quickly compared to

Guess I better not push it, especially if I haven't autosaved yet... Still I wander why they put that as a diplomic action even though if you know your going to lose anyway. You could just quit and start another game and or load a presaved game. I think that the surrender button is a little redundant. Don't you?

I've seen on all pictures of race relations that you can surrender to an enemy as a diplomic action. What does this button, do does it mean that it ends your game, or do you become that race and play them? Any ideas or knowledge on this?
