I had the same problem but now everything seems to be fine, you can upload a zip, or at least I could this morning. (I should mention that the icon I uploaded as a .odock showed up on the site as .odock and not zip for me, when I updated it, the website allowed me to post a .zip). Just try it again. Hope this helped clear things up.
