I don't know how to learn vbscript. Everytime I start, my mind diffuses...
Hmmm... Three years ago I didn't know nothing about VBScript. Bu I much wanted to make my own widgets! It was my Great Dream! And I began to study DesktopX Documentation as well as to find the VBScript Tutorials and Script Examples through Google. I agree. It took a lot of time for this (as for any other Knowledge by the way). However now I even can't imagine a thing I will not create with Desk
me thinks somebody's been into Brad's liquor cabinet again.
Seems I have the same thoughts... :d
My thoughts about: 1. You may take the scripts and use them if this is really "Tutorial Objects" and DesktopX End User License Agriment (EULA) allow you to do that. 2. Any of Widget's Scripts has their own Authors (if this is certainly a "WIDGET" but not just a "SKIN" for some old script). So... Open About Box to find the Author's Name, then email him to ask about permission. Get it and use the scripts.
Screenshot of the WB in question
Seems I need to buy new glasses to help my eyes make out at least anything on this skin. Now I see only the Black Smoke in the Grey Fog... And my depression begin to progress... (:(
May be this is strange but I'm happy and sad simultaneously... Why I'm sad? Because Stardock Support will lose this GREAT MAN! And I'm really happy that Mike will make more interesting and important work. Take my Heartly Congratulations Mike! You are one of the best here! No doubt!
And thank you for your Great Work!
Thank you, my Friends! Sometimes it seems to me that my home is here and all of you are my big second family! This is good because I never have so many positive emotions in a real life. However I have a good rest here (as well as my Soul and body) after a heaps of crap which surrounds me every day in my fool and sick country... Thank you again. My heart with you!
I don't think the album image is stored in the playing file, is it?
Yes. It may be stored (for example into the mp3 file through Winamp). But this increases file size on the disk so I never use this option.
Does anyone know of a method to extract the art directly from the currently playing file?
Pose yesterday I have done a code that searches the Album Art image in the playing file directory and then show it on the player display (this is not a DX
he needs to hook up with a good skinner
This is a Truth! Really Great Words! From some time I don't like to draw. Several years I have worked on 3D Graphics and 3D Effects for Video. And now seems I have an allergy for this job...
Oh! Wow! So much attention for mine modest person! :SURPRISED: I'm confused and my cheeks became red... :d But I'm certainly happy! :)
He has been a member of WinCustomize since August of 2004
It was so long and so hard way... I lost nearly all in my country... (:( However this is my way and I don't regret that have chosen it! I found a lot of good friends here. As well I found very interesting employment. It doesn't bring me money but makes me happy e
Hi Friends, this is really good ability that considerably expands DesktopX using. And all of us, members of Wincustomize community, will use it with a big pleasure. :CONGRAT: But... There are a big problem with such gadgets in the other places. I'm sure you must know this! Please look here and read what other people think: [link="http://gallery.live.com/reviews.aspx?li=ce106b54-2aaf-4aa6-9326-725ed956b793"]WWW Link[/link] I began this testing at 11/11/2007 (with DX 3.49 [RC
Nice. Already updated! :CONGRAT:
Enhanced layer support (accompanied by skin author support in SkinStudio 6.2)
Where is it? My version is only 6.00.012... May be I have lost something?
Vad, using WB on Vista, my system, also.. fast as a bullet... Installing correctly..on a decent system and following correct procedures you should have no problems, I never do. Perhaps you should try a clean install, Thinking of you using stock Vista is almost more strain for me than I can bear..
Sorry I don't see this... I have Vista Ultimate that I bought directly in USA together with IBM ThinkPad (for a long time I work only on IBM PC) ;) I like ho
Hey Mike, uninstall via Impulse, reboot, run Ccleaner, cleaner and registry, reboot, reinstall via Impulse. I am running same version, all file dates are 2008, you have 3 from 2007, even a couple of the 2008 dates you have are off, looks like a bad update install.
Seems this is very difficult way for a non professional user... :SURPRISED: I had the same problems after each of WB updates. And not only this... I was so disturbed that disabled WB in the Windows
Vista Weather is a usual DesktopX widget (not a stand alone gadget). This widget keeps current data in the simple text file (named "weather.ini") which doesn't contains any widget coordinates. Just temperature units and location... So your problem isn't a bug in the widget script and you can't correct it in the DesktopX Builder. However it may be a bug in the Widget Manager! Try to run it and clear the widget cache (total!). Hope this help you.
What the application you have tried to use? This is a "WIDGET" or directly "GADGET"? As well what is the name of this widget(gadget)? I need this information to understand where it save its current position and how to make it visible again.
I am trying to generate interest in DesktopX. I am not trying to garner downloads, not trying to "earn" karma. I want to inspire more people to try to create DesktopX themes. There seems to be a real lack of interest in DX that I hate to see because it is the main part of OD Ultimate that I love. I would hate to see DX go the route of Object Bar, tab launchpad, and some of the other almost dead apps.
I'm agree with each of your words! This is really a big problem. But
Thanks and +1 karma for each
It's not enough at least for me... ;) These scripts must cost much, much more! ;p (just a little joke :d ) But if seriously you need to learn the DesktopX Documentation: [link="https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/documentation/Tutorials/AccessingInternet.asp"]WWW Link[/link]. These scripts are too easy and I'm sure that you will make them by yourself without any helps. By the way here is very useful quote from
One of the greatest things about DesktopX is its flexibility in being able to perform the same function in multiple different ways.
Agree. More than! There are a lot of other very powerfull things included into DesktopX. I even can't imagine what the widget/gadget I wouldn't not make with it! At the same time I can't understand why Stardock do nothing to develop and popularize this unsurpassed tool... As well why they do nothing to include a possibili
Nice code! May tell you that I don't use the System.InternetConnection. At least on my Vista computer... Here is a code I made for this: Dim url url = "www.google.com" Function IsConnected(url) ' On Error Resume Next Set objWMI = GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}") If IsObject(objWMI) Then Set objPNG = objWMI.ExecQuery("Select ReplySize from Win32_PingStatus Wh
How's WMI speed on folder collections
I didn't measure it specially. However I can see that the speed is very, very high. Recently I have tested a several ways to search files in a computer (I worked on a tool for global searching for media information and used FSO, WSH and WMI). May tell you that nothing works so quickly as WMI! This is FANTASTIC! :CONGRAT:
I guess I'm stupid, what the hell is WMI?
WMI is the Win
Will it work if I will export the object as a standalone gadget with the older version of Dx? Any idea?
Seems it will work in any cases... Ok. I'll try to send you the *.dxpack through Wincustomize mail service.
