I actually saw an interesting picture. All the blue states and Canada combined to form "The United States of Canada" and all the red states became "Jesusland"

"we now know that the oil for food program was a total scam." Almost EVERYONE in the world community knew that for years. It was actaully one of the main arguments of France, Russia and China for lifting the sanctions after the desert fox operation.

One could also put forward the dialectic that the American “right” is just as anti-american with the white-house’s Faith-Based initiatives or even the religious prison of Lawtey in Florida since they are obvious contradictions to the principle of separation of Church and State the American constitution hold so dearly. It’s just a matter of perspective...

The problem in the United States is rather in the dichotomization of its political life. The two-party system it offers creates two massive ideologies to adhere to with mass support and creating these kinds of rhetorical arguments of who’s the rightest one.

The leading "warbloggers" of the time, ranging from Steven Den Beste, Right Wing News, Instapundit, Andrew Sullivan, James Lileks, One Hand Clapping, Eject Eject Eject, JoeUser (back when it was just me) and so forth were saying the same things. Oh yes, those middle-aged men with a tight grip on the blo

Actually, the first country legalising compulsory sterilisation was in fact the United States. Before World War II, eugenics were relatively normal in most countries (including Australia, Canada, United States, Iceland and many others); notably for the mentally retarded. In the United States, it was first introduced by Pennsylvania in 1905 and followed by many other states after (and upheld by the Supreme court in Buck v. Bell trial). Howev

It’s unfortunate that in American histography, the role of the Soviet Union during World War II was seriously minimized with the advent of the Cold War. In fact, with the bipolarization of the world during that period, the role of the of both new superpowers in the conflict was notably increased histographycally. Hopefully one day we’ll see a balanced view of the War in each culture's dogmata.

unigolyn357 : You can't see a linear political spectrum (Left & Right) as being tangible through time. It is, rather, a limited classification and comparison tool to its given period. The term has grown enormously through time since its genesis during the French Revolution according to the geopolitical setting; rendering it different from region to region and from time to time (and also, quite evidently, on what you're trying to compare). Do they even realize that Nazi stands for National Socialist. They weren't right-wing in any way. Just a sidenote on this topic : With the rise of conservatism in the United States today, many try to portray Nazism, Neo-Nazism and even Fascism as a form of

The Iran-Iraq war wasn't for oil, but rather, in part, for the control of the Shatt al-Arab river to ship the oil. However, the Islamist revolution was the main factor that forced Saddam to invade Iran, fearing the Islamist Revolution would reach his Shia population. It is important to note that the conflict lasted for so long because of the western influence. The traditional powers did not want to see Iraq rise to a "superpower" status while they

People have the right to write about they want on their own blog. JoeUser isn't really a blog site. It's more a melodramatic, soap-opera-ish Internet community where they all mud wrestle for ranks, points and attention... but albeit, quite entertaining when you don't have a tv around
