Gotta love 200 year old laws that are absolutely retarded and should have been repealed 80 years ago, but have been forgotten about by 99.999% of the population

It's simply reverse NIMBY. There are certain things that everyone wants, just not in their backyard (like a new maximum security prison). There are also certain things no one wants, unless they are in their backyard (such as a costly military base that doesn't do much more than burn taxpayer money)
And I am proud of my self for I made the evening news even though I was not dressed in any fancy costume. Tell me about it! I got in the paper for having a lightsaber!
I mean why else would you own a gun unless you were going to kill something or someone? Well, you know, compensation
While this argument plays upon emotions, it does not play upon reason. For, you see, if we want to see proof that people CAN and DO die for a lie, we need look no further back than September 11, 2001, when 19 evil men boarded 4 planes to go out and die for what most rational people would perceive to be a lie. Or like the Iraq war? Or am I not a
I'm gonna out half on Dr. Guy and half on Moderateman. Dr. Guy is a powerhouse, plus he has the wacky headlines but Mod has amassed a lot of points very quicky, and if he can continue, he will probably come out on top. Plus I have to hedge my bets. Oh crap, I just gave Dr. Guy more points!
Or maybe if there is a God, he/she/it just hates smartasses who pretend to be in their religon so they don't go to hell. In it's original form, Pascal's wager also assumes Christianity to be the true religion, so what if someone takes the wager, goes to church all his life, dies, and realized that Islam or Judaism was the true religion after all. It also threatens "unvelievers" with hell, a place most of them (at least the serious ones) don't even be
I went with my trusty lightsaber, and there was a picture with me in it in the local paper today. And if you don't want spoilers, don't look at my review. Some moron in the lobby was trying to be a spoiler "You know Anakin becomes Darth Vader in the end." DUH!!!
My Son loves the show, but I have never watched it! It's like the Simpsons, but better. And Peter Griffin is even dumber than Homer Simpson.
I think the problem here is that the minimum wage was too high. You said that $10 an hour was a low but acceptable wage. So a minimum wage of between $8 and $12 wouldn't cause any problems for you, or for pretty much anyone. Then you could still pay your workers $14, which in this world of yours looks like a decent wage.
maybe a name change is in order here, hmmmmmmmmmmm good idea, notquitesomoderateman and I'll be pinkocommieliberalman, ok? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
10 hours, 32 minutes (as of 1:33 pm, CST) to go
I got my lightsaber for when I go see Star Wars. $9.99 at Toys R' Us. Not bad, it doesn't light up, but it does extend and retract, so it's easier to carry Only 36 hours and 51 minutes (as of 11:14 am, CST May 17, 2005)...
Even things like donuts...small cans of biscuits (3 for $1.00) can be fried in vegetable oil ( 1/4 of a bottle= about $.50) and dusted with powdered sugar, or even iced with powdered sugar creamed with a few spoonfuls of milk (a few cents worth).....netting you 30 small donuts for about $2.00, and guess what? They're yummy too.<
You are a Folkie. Good for you. Wow. I thought I would be hippie for sure. Unless there is a pinko commie choice...
latour999: Yes, but are you actually doing $7.25 CDN worth of work every hour? If not, then you're imposing a hidden cost on your community, in order to finance your education. Of course you like the minimum wage; you're getting paid for work you're not doing, at the expense of everyone else Well, I'm
I would like to see him possibly marry Ann Coulter and then listen to their children. That would be the biggest argument for abortion that I can think of
hey.....so.... If Hitler now was such a great guy....and Bush is always called Hitler from the left.... Does this mean that Bush is a great guy? just wondering.... That's a pretty big If. And by that I mean Hitler wasn't a great guy (he was a horrible, evil person), but
"Is this really the blood of Christ?" "Yes" "Man, he must have been wasted all the time" There's a Family Guy reference for every situation
I agree with Gideon and LW (never thought I'd be saying that). Simply tax the fast food and don't tax bread, potatoes, milk, bananas, eggs, etc.
Here's why I like the minimum wage: I'm starting university next year, and I need to pay tuition and other expenses. Plus they just jacked up tuition by 500 bucks, even though we are supposed to have a tuition freeze. That is why I like my $7.25 CDN an hour (Minimum wage in Manitoba). It would be a lot harder to pay for tuition on something like $4-6 CDN an hour. And out of curiosity, how much money are you making at your factory?<
So, when you get your bill, are you going to wish you lived in Canada? What can I say, everyone needs an archnemesis? Seriously though, get well soon, cause I'm starting to miss your rants against liberals and Canada and lack of spelling/grammar Remember, laughter is the best medicine
We all know that liberals are the only ones who can say bile and nasty things, and conservatives, who are always good upstanding perfect people, never ever say stupid, bile or nasty things. In the words of Dick Cheney, "Go F*ck yourself!"
