You don't have issues with viruses because the people who make them don't bother with OS X. People that do that kind of thing do it for attention, owning a Mac is already self inflicted upon the owner, its a waste of time. And yes, OS X is riddled with holes and security flaws, no one wants to bother with it because it holds no bragging rights. Who's gonna get more attention? The guy that takes down Microsoft or the guy that takes down Apple? Microsoft, hands down. If

Ive tried my fair share of Operating Systems, From Linux Mandrake to OS X(10.4.8), XP, 2000, 98... and Vista. If your looking for overall usability and getting the most out of your hard earned $$$ I would recommend Vista in a heart beat. For the amount of money you dish out to get a mid level Mac computer you could easily get a top of the line PC that will handle anything you throw at it. I mean lets face it, 4 years ago OS X was good for graphic editing (it still is), but wit
Astyanax0: XP had updates too. A number of behind the scenes tweaks as well as the new wbconfig UI. Ah ok, I figured this was strictly a Vista update, nevermind then
Maybe everyone using this on XP shouldn't. Its clearly labeled for Vista, I see no sign of XP updates there other than geting the new wbconfig layout.
Everything is sorted; milksama (Mike) reset my activation count and all is back to normal, WB has been activated without any hickups!
Thanks, WB activated without any problems this time! Appreciate all the help guys! To anyone encountering an Activation ERROR 6 in the future, just shoot an email to [email protected] with a request to reset your activation count and we'll get you taken care of promptly I will keep that in mind if I run into the problem again, hopefully I wont!!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 align="absm
open SDC, get on chat, see if anyone there can reset you or remind Jafo he was gonna point them in your direction I'll have to check that out tomorrow, unless the problem is fixed by then
That's a possible....when the SD crew are online later tonight I'll point them to this....if it's an activation reset issue. Thanks for the help
Ive done that who knows how many times man For awile it changed to Error 0, then back to Error 6. I don't get what the point is in having a support branch of a company if nothing really goes ... supported is the word im looking for?
Well twice in one day, and once a few days before(5.49s i believe) - Twice in one day due to the false labled 5.50 and tried 5.49t but thats when it started giving me Error 6. It gave me Error 0 a few times today, then went back to Error 6 after disabling then re-enabling my Firewall. Should I just wait till friday then try again? You may be right about me being locked out, I just installed and activated the Iconpackager beta for vista without any problems.
This wouldn't be because if my recent IP change would it? I had some connection problems a few days ago and I changed the mac address on my router to get a whole new assignment, it fixed my connection problem but uhm, it isnt *blocked* by any chance is it?
Thats the problem, I have contacted them, been waiting here for 2 days now.
Correct I still cant activate but the 5.50 (5.10) is now gone.
Well its cleared up now, arguing over something thats now cleared up does not solve my problem.
I accidently went and installed this version, and now trying to install 5.49t it tells me Activation Limit Reached.
Whats to get confused about? He replied the same day, told me to do a manual activation and if it didnt work he linked me to an offline activation guide. So I tried it manually once more, IT FAILED, I proceeded in following the steps and got the activation code. I responded in telling him that it did not work along with the offline activation code and I havent had a responce in 2 days.
I had sent an email about this a few days ago to support, got a reply that same day and nothing since. So I figured I'd post here. Heres my problem. A few days ago I checked SDC and noticed their was a new version of Windowblinds 5.50 available. I installed it naturally because I figured hey, must be some bug fixes right? WRONG! It turns out that it was labled 5.50 but was really 5.10. So I uninstalled it, 5.10 is useless for me because I am on Vista. So I check back a few hour
Well it would definitly help if the market for Dreamscene walls was bigger thats for sure. I understand why you have to put a price up for them, I just don't agree with the concept.
Ive seen plenty of skins here get downloaded roughly 100 thousand times if not more. So making roughly 1$ off each purchase isnt that bad if you sell say 50 thousand. I understand that their probably isnt that many people that would buy it right now due to Vista's recent release. But im sure in the future that number isnt entirely out of the question, no?
Hey don't get me wrong, I (unlike many Im sure) bought Ultimate Full (upgrade=no damn way). I just get kind of discouraged when I see something like this needing to be paid for when I spent an extra amount and got this feature as part of the version I purchased. I understand people need to make money, But making 1$ off it aint that bad if you end up selling a good couple thousand is it?
Brad I think you have to take into account the price your setting forth for these dreamscene wallpapers. For just 4$ more I can get a whole Premium suite which includes a variety of different things, atleast 35 icons, a Windowblinds skin, wallpapers, probably a Logon and Boot skin, and so on. Perhaps it would be slightly better to lower the costs? It just doesn't seem worth it when I can get so much more if I wanted to for just 4$ more.
We will be revisiting font control in future versions of WB. Glad to hear it
Its great, When it doesnt trick me into downloading the beta 5.50 when its really 5.10 - then making me unable to now activate 5.49t. One thing that seems to be forgotten is Font overrides.
Only thing that will make the Vista-sales pickup is when games start going DX10 and as MS has stated that XP will not run DX10 - people will have no choice but upgrade. Legally or illegally. It isn't that they WONT add it its that they can't without major editing of the OS and how it works, and its not worth it, go buy vista - thats basicly what they're looking for.
