thanks y'all: 1st attempt - unloaded every Stardock file i had in my system. reloaded every program that was of any value to me. loaded SC- did not see any of the programs i just loaded. i did however see the subscription files i have (2 of them). 2nd attempt - unloaded all files (note: stripping out all registry references takes several hours)- loaded SD first put in my email and password - it recognized my account - it did not update any of the files - i r
Interesting anomaly - (at least with my system) run WFX BETA at the same time running DS8 and gets the following: "Unable to play dream unable to start DirectX on your machine. Please try rebooting and if is this continues try updating your video drivers" Note: DirectX is actually running when I get this message. It is not enough to shut down WFX B- I need to reboot to choose individual dreams in DS8. Just something to consi
not silly at all - thanks for the reply. yes - checked and re-checked. this ODNT Zapper - this gets rid of everything or can you be selective? i notice when i unload SC now, it goes quickly. i am sure it is now deleting all the associate files. do you know of a programs that will fully clean up just the specific program? i do have CCleaner and have run several times. i am getting the feeling that - at least in the case of my system - it may not be worth the effort at this point.
back in the beta days, SC would sometimes fail to locate the programs. i would just unload/reload and everything was fine. now, out of beta SC just will not see any of my programs (i have a lot). i just got off the phone with Norton (360) and confirmed it is not a Norton issue. i left off with Stardock tech support with "well, i don't know what the issue is and since this is a free program it is not support - case closed"(their words-not mine). i have unloaded
Just an FYI to y'all who tried to help - thank you. MS SP3 finally won ... beat down into submission, I finally gave up - and yes - started over. Full systen format. I loaded ONLY Windows XP Pro first and only ALL updates for this monster, including the dreaded SP3 (any one remember DOS 4.5?). I have come to the conclusion that Windows wants to be first ALL THE TIME! It has taken 2 weeks to get it all back and some I had to say goodbye too - my system works fine - do I dare say better than befor
nope ... cool on the spam ... maybe they just don't feel like talkin' to me ... oh well
nope - no auto response
That seems to be another problem ... I contact / they do not respond.
When I launch Keepsafe I get: - COULD NOT FIND FILE 'C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\LOCAL SETTINGS\APPLICATION DATA\STARDOCK\KEEPSAFEARCHIVE\KS.MDB'. I click OK and get A LOGIN BOX: - DATA SOURCE KSDSN2 (LOGIN IS SET TO ADMIN & A BLANK BOX FOR PASSWORD. I have no idea what the password is. I click cancel and get this box: - SELECT DATA SOURCE - ON THE FILE DATA SOURCE TAB - LOOK IN DEFAULTS TO DATA SOURCES - THERE IS ANOTHER BOX REQUESTIN
of course if there would be some link to the beta for upgrade, that would be helpful
Simply put, you folks are the best - for me, no Stardock - no computer!
DO u maybe know whence i could come by the product? bWolf
Thanks for checkin' around y'all ... it is kinda' sad to have to say au revoir to a fine system. Still, I wonder if anyone might have saved the installer for the program. I have Sysmetrix3 (alas, the old version). If anyone did save it - would you mind sharing the file? Thx Bwolf
anyone know what happened to the Sysmetrix site? know how i can get the software to run the program?
