or a football fan... Well you can't possibly be MY daughter, then!

I'm overwhelmed. So am I.
I'm simply saying that blandly telling a child, especially a child with a disadvantage (either physical or mental) that they can do whatever the hell they want as long as they try hard enough is doing them a disservice and is setting them up for failure. They're going to feel like they simply didn't try hard enough and beat them
One of my dearest friends is someone I met over the net. We are from different areas of the country (I'm in NH, she's in IL), but she is closer than many of my friends who live nearby. We have gotten together several times in person over the years... and although distance separates us geographically, there is no one closer to my heart. The internet is like an
A Mother’s Prayer Her screams ripped through the air like lightning tears the night. The sound was piercing, breaking through the monotony of the washer and dryer. I could almost feel the blood in my veins turn icy while at the same time, my heart seemed to have made its way to my throat, pounding there, blocking off my airways. I rounded the corne
Thanks for the chuckles...LOL
Who determines what is within a child's potential? I understand that there are certain cases in which reality defines that... but here's an example for you. My daughter was badly burned when she was four years old. Prior to that, she was an active, healthy, beautiful young girl who loved to dance, sing and perform. If there was a stage, Jasmine was running for it.
((((((((((((((((((((((Carebear)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I'm sorry for your loss.
We got cats. About a week ago, I came home to find the hind quarter of a squirrell sitting on the front porch! Had a monster of a cat growing up. He brought home mallard ducks. Ick. So all that time he was just lovin' on me, huh?
Very well said, Ted. Thanks for putting my thoughts into words, much more eloquently than I could have.
Russia and China are set to begin an 8 day "war games" session. They have stressed that their "Peace Mission 2005" maneuvers will focus on countering terrorism and piracy. “The exercises neither aim at any third party nor concern the interests of any third country,” the Chinese Defence Ministry said. The exercises, beginning tomorrow, are in th
Aaaaaaaaah! It was a self-professed "yarn snob" that taught me to knit, and she's just as particular about her needles. I only own bamboo needles (and do most of my work on circs cuz I'm so awkward with straights and keep dropping them). I've used aluminum and plastic a few times, in a pinch... but definitely prefer the bamboo. Happy knitting! Thanks for the e-mail!
*waving at greywar from page 18* LOL... How's the weather at the top?
"an Aran cabled hat would be great for my dad" Do you have a pattern off the net, Dharma? Or did you create it? I'm knitting an Aran sweater now... would LOVE to make a hat to go with. Could you send me the pattern? Also... have a friend who is just learning to knit. I was wondering if you had an EASY sweater pattern that I could give her. I want to try and teach her, but my own skills aren't that advanced yet, so it's gotta be simple. <img s

Any economy that can absorb $60+/barrel oil prices and still keep growing is a very healthy economy! Excellent observation!
Assinine. Completely. I am so tired of PC trumping security. It's pathetic.
So sad. I'm sorry Here's hoping TX is right and that she'll come to realize that having you in their lives is not just an asset, but a necessity.
Call it historical fiction, I guess. Had a writing class a couple of years back and decided to share some of what came out of it with you. ************************************************************* Sacrifices His chest heaved with each breath, the air escaping his lungs in short gasps.
