Why apologize for something that is truth? We are not born so we can please other people and hold all of our own truths inside ourselves, while we allow others to say what they want. Plus, anger fades. Remembering that you stood up for yourself is always precious. (In my opinion).

"I need meat to live, to nourish my body." (I don't know how to insert those yellow boxes) Just to barge in a quick comment, you don't technically "need meat" to survive. I know many people who have been doing it for numerous numerous years (ex. me). And you don't really "need" a million dollars. Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't take it because I mean, c'mon...in the face of actual possibility, who of us is actually a saint, and who of us act

I know what you mean. My first couple years of college, I pretty much never turned on the TV at all. Last year, I had roommates that were always addicted to one show or another so I'd watch it with them when I was home, but nothing weekly. This year, I have more time on my hand, and I think I'm addicted to like 5 different shows. We have HBO On Demand which makes it even harder to get away. You nailed it perfectly, though. When you have it, you b

I think moments like these deserve a nice watching of "Office Space." Perhaps you could relate to that commercial in which the guy talks about how he is working with a bunch of monkeys. Overall though, I, too, am surprised by how little common sense the majority of people in the world have. There's a great quote, "Common sense is the least common thing in the world." Your boss just sounds dumb.

I'd like to start off by saying that I love my roommate, I do, and I hate the fact that I complain about her, but it just upsets me that she just acts so weird...and sometimes I wonder if she knows what the word, "friend" means. My latest discovery is that I absolutely can't go to the bar, or probably even out to lunch or perhaps even public, with just my roo

It's funny because my roommate and friends sometimes complain about how annoying it is that when they go home they have to sit down and have dinner with their family and they can't be late and it doesn't matter if they're not hungry. While they complain, I envy them and totally wish my family could sit together and have dinner together even once. We sometimes had dinner parties at our apartment last year and a bunch of us friends would sit down toget

I've started wondering why it is that we often differentiate between love and unconditional love. Wouldn't you think that love implies unconditionality because if it didn't, then it wouldn't actually be love? Maybe I'm terribly wrong about this. I agree with Titan...I also like the Mr. RightNow label. It seems all too appropriate. It kinda sucks realizing there always is that difference between Mr. Right and Mr. RightNow. I dunno, maybe t

"If you spend your life fearing death, then you will lose the very thing you tried to save." What a quote. Seems to apply to so much more then just death. Too bad I can appreciate and understand these quotes so well...but applying them to my own life ends up being so much harder. "

I went out during the after Thanksgiving Day Sale and bought a shower radio (mostly because everything else I wanted was already gone by the time I got there). I absolutely love music and love to sing in the shower so I have been meaning to buy a shower radio for quite some time. I was really excited about using it and my roommate thought I was crazy because I could

I'm a faithful watcher of the show, Grey's Anatomy. Great show, not quite accurate, but great show. So I started to wonder... Am I cut out to be a doctor if I really, really feel for people. I mean, I know I would make a good doctor. A great doctor. A different type of doctor. One who actually listens to her patients and lets them talk and listens to th

Well, she doesn't actually work. We're in college and school is like the only thing that has any significance in her life. But her parents, I presume, are pretty well off, and they pretty much hand her over all the money she needs. She can be good every now and then though about bringing home some ice cream or something for us to share. Like I said, I know it can be so much worse, but sometimes, I just want to give her a nice long, lecture about wh

Haha. Thing that sucks is that I can't boot her. We're both on the lease, not my decision anymore. And I can't say anything to her cuz I don't want to cause awkwardness between us cuz then I will still be the one that has to pay by living with her. Silver lining - It could be so much worse, and I know that, but I just feel kinda stuck as is. I just wish there was a serum to inject people with "common sense" or maturity.</font

Seriously, I think they should have some days at work that are known as "Sanity days." They would do people good and increase productivity. Milk the day for all it's worth!

I had written an article before about how some bananas "exploded" all over our kitchen and my lovely roommate left them for me to come back from my weekend at home and clean up. Well, after that, I just decided that I didn't want to go through this trouble anymore, and I would just clean the house on my own instead of asking for her help. It sucks, but it's better t

Hey Tova, Do you have a link or info about the stuff you said is working like a charm for you? I had pretty bad acne as a kid (ran in the family) and it didn't go away until much, much later, and even later than anyone else had it in my family. I tried everything and absolutely nothing worked. Now, I still have some blemishes and it's annoying, but for the most part I'm okay, although I still get freaked out everytime I feel my face st

Why are people being such DICKS?! I finally ran into my roommate from 2 years ago who I haven't seen all semester and she wouldn't even look at me! What the hell...I didn't do anything to her, so where the hell is she getting this "I think I'm just going to ignore you" crap from. Then, my friend, who I used to consider to be one of my closest friends on campus

Background: So I'm taking this class about creativity and consciousness that basically integrates consciousness with music. Today we had a lady come in to play the harp and it was amazing. I think I have heard the harp before in movies and CD's, but it's a totally different experience in person. It's soft sounds were so soothing and somewhat mystical and

Ok, for real. What the hell. I just spent two hours helping someone do data entry just to help the guy out when I for sure did not need to, especially considering I hadn't eaten all day (I helped him until 8 p.m. without any food all day). On the way home I felt kinda good about it, thinking, hey I just did something really nice for someone. Maybe it'll help me ou

Hahaha! That's hilarious. I ask myself that every now and then too. But then I think about how catty girls are and I'm so glad I'm not a lesbian. But your story is just funny. Out of curiosity, what movie was it?
