looks very nice should release a version for home users. i make cds for peeps all the time, be cool to launch with a neat lil interface that links to programs, folders, links on the web, and pictures. be espically handy for giving out to some of the less than savy computer users in my family.

you only have parents to blame for all of this. tests used to be hard and if your kid struck out, he got held back a grade. after parents started taking the schools to court left and right, in the process screwing everyother child with huge budget deficits, they made things easier and easier until you could quite literally pass High school without doing anything but showing up in some areas of the country. thats just what happens when you hand them off
still low resolution backgrounds?
thats not good i still enjoy using paintshop pro over photoshop for quick and simple things, its a nice program and im sorry to see them bought out by a company who essentially failed in the same market.
I love the statistics that come out every presidential election regardless of whose running. It’s always the same thing, see how many poor we have without jobs, see how the economy has grown, but clearly not enough to supply jobs for everyone. Its facts of life people, its human nature to better oneself, and as it is with every developed nation, and every developing nation, and most of the others too, one does that through $$. Even if we split everythi
I must be seriously watching debates with look alikes, because I thought Bush clearly beat out Kerry and I dont think Cheney wiped the floor with Edwards.
i couldnt disagree more. i think Kerry looked like a complete fool constantly contradicting himself and leaving small innacurate statements with every topic. An example would be spending 200 billion because we were alone (later admitting we werent really alone), or spending 200 billion at home if we werent alone. I guess if you have friends the war is free. I think he does it on purpose too, to weight his arguments, Bush on the other hand was like a sm
its funny you mentioned engineers, because it so happens that most of my friends are engineers, mechanical engineers to be precise, and everyone of them is pro bush. i had never thought about it before, and while Im not sure your reasoning is accuracte(warm fuzzy liberals), I do see the same result.
nice features
just my guess, and i have no idea what im talking about i think its because of OS integration. most things properly (i stree properly) integrated into the OS and not running on top are going to run better. also, macs in many ways are a lot like game consoles. while they are hardware customizable of course, theres not near the spectrum of products availble for them. windows has to support a lot more, its not focused on something designed for it.
/sigh i like aero, i run aero skins, and i use winfx. with two clicks i can disable the shadows. why would i want to run a different skin? i dont need this, have a good evenin /out
btw mav, as I said I disable this when my system starts slowing down, im not saying wfx is a direct cause. the shadows use very little resources by themselves, but when your computer starts vibrating from seizures the shadows add another layer of strain, and it does have a noticable relief when its disabled. im not sure if im making that very clear. regardless, all im asking for is a easy way to turn it on and off without going into properties if complicated transparency shadows (alpha,
i have a 3ghz 533 fsb laptop with 768 mb of memory and a mobile gf fx. pc is a 2.8ghz 800 fsb with a gig of memory and a 9700 pro. when i deal with archD paper sizes for posters and large acad files the shadows do have an impact. i assure you, my system is optimized and it is the programs. the shadows also have a few problems with other applications including some opengl programs (not all), it tries to force them into windows when theyre set for full screen. another reason i disable the program
mav, both photoshop and acad have video acceleration options. theyre not the only programs i run anyhow, just the most used to. i also dabble with maya and use my machines to play games. besides, the video acceleration isnt exclusive to the video card, your still using the rest of your system components.
if stardock is going to integrate the shadow thing and essentially wfx (since thats the most common use) into wb, i hope they leave it easy to turn off. it does have a large impact on my system when autocad or photoshop start getting overloaded. with wfx i just right click and unload it, and then bring it back up when my computer is out of the red again. if i had to use the properties window to bring it up its that much more my comp has to think about and render.
tabbed browser eh, very interesting. might be the first to support wb a bit better. a lot of the others get a bit tweaked. im pretty big on the aero thing, and i dont see a need for windowblinds to support alphas the way your talking. i turn winfx off witha simple click when i start using acad or some large photoshop files, be a shame if a wb required it or i had to go into properties to disable it. more seamless integration with winfx would be a great thing though. be neat if it would
its doing it on mine too Mav, guess they havent gotten around to fixing it yet, i reported it awhile back (though im much happier to have the new shellstyle support then wireless fixed).
thanks for the link Essencay, shame the walls are such a low resolution, theres just no way I can use this on any of my machines.
try reinstalling wb, only takes a sec. i did that after skinstudio gave me probs just to be safe
its skin specific joeKnowledge digital, make sure that skinstudio actually updates. I had to update it 3 times for some reason.
cheers for stardock, jumped on that feature update fast.
what are the resolutions for the wallpapers? do they go up to 1600x1200? I'd consider purchasing it if the screens were large enough, as soon as they get stretched its an automatic no way
i like it a lot, espiaclly with the nice mp3 encoder. i think winamp just lost to winmedia on my machine
I see no point in longhorn anymore, not unless it ships as a complete package. Honestly I have no idea how large corps like MS work, but if they cant finish these projects with as much time as they have, and plan on using, with as much money as they have, theres a problem, and its not Longhorn.
going to have to agree with the others, this doesnt hold any interest to me if wb cant skin it. If it will in the future, well then it holds a lot of interest and could very well become something I wouldnt want to go without.
