It's simple. The cartoon means that if the administration had spent more money on health care, Saddam would have stopped killing Shi'ites and Katrina wouldn't have happened. Thanks Leakui, I was afraid of lsoing sleep on this one. Thanks for clearing it up for me. <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif" b

Contrary to what you might think, I'm not staunchly anti-abortion. I believe that there are appropriate circumstances under which abortions should be legally allowed....but not just because someone couldn't be bothered to practice safe sex. Abortion should NEVER be used as a form of birth control, ever. A woman has a right to

Aside from sales tax collected, a business should pay no tax. The higher tax a business pays, the lower the wage they pay their employees, the less tax the employees contribute by way of earned income tax. No "business" pays taxes. Their employees pay the taxes by way of lower wages and their customers pay by way of higher prices.

I believe this, inheritance or "death" taxes should be abolished. Only earned income should be taxed. If enough tax is not being raised by earned income tax, cut expenses first and if all else fails, raise the rate. You brought up very good scenarios. Let's go a step further than the corvette that you mentioned. Let's say a young man is left a house by his deceased parents? Imagine a young man having to come up with even a meager 10 percent ra

I understand the pain that you suffered, and I'm not holding any of it against you. You did a totally unselfish thing...you gave of yourself, you took on pain and angst so that other people could have a chance at happiness. Imagine how few abortions would be performed if everyone were as strong as yo

I don't really see McCain as a politician, although I suppose I should. I respect his service more than I can possibly put into words. Because of that, I view him as a person of character. I also see him as a true moderate and someone who carefully weighs what's set before him. Ditto, although,

Capitol Hill Blue began reporting on Bush’s mood swings and erratic behavior in June 2004 This moron Doug Thompson seems to think of himself in third person. When he refers to the website "Capitol Hill Blue", he is speaking of himself, the author of said website. I guess you consider your source irrefu

In yet another example of the determination of the mainstream media to create the news rather than reporting it; the AP now reports that most of the atrocities reported from New Orleans were either exaggerated or blatantly false. Link NEW ORLEANS — On Sept. 1, with desperate Hurricane Katrina evac

And Kwanzaa isn't even a "real" holiday...it was invented by a black separatist ex-con in California in order to give blacks a holiday of their own. Thanks for the link, while I had no idea, I should have known.

Stores should say Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakauh*, or Happy Kwanza. Actually, stores should and frankly are free to market to whomever they wish. If the stores thought they would increase sales by saying Happy Kwanza, they'd do it. If calendar companies thought they would sell more calendar

Gid: I don't doubt being able to supply for you and your family, I just wonder if you won't need a full fledged farm for earning enough profits to pay for life's necessities that can't be bartered for. Good luck to you and most of all to your kids.

Off the subject of the doggie (very cute) the Shark steam cleaner is a life saver. Nothing better for cleaning the seams in the shower and the grout tile.

Haha...I'd unblacklist you if I thought you were going to play nice. ARE you going to play nice? Most certainly, I have turned a new leaf and besides that, I got tired of losing sleep trying to come up with witty retorts for LW. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
