Bahhumbug. I think it's enough that they a) clinched their division just a hair over halfway through the season (probably a record) and b) have already clinched homefield advantage through the playoffs ... and this with over a month left to play in the regular season. GAH!!!! Anywho, *crosses fingers* - I'm hoping that Washington manages to pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and beat Dallas tomorrow (one of tho

If you neocons couldn't bash the "liberals," what would you talk about? If you stuck to the things Bush is doing that are actually good for the country, that would be a pretty brief discussion. The really strange thing is: I don't agree w/ a good chunk of what Bush does. And I'm not a neocon.
Precisely my point. "Violent" reactions are potentially on both sides. True. However - there's a difference between reacting to someone who's called you war criminals (and worse) and being denied the opportunity to speak. Conservative speakers have their speeches disrupted or shouted over. If Sheehan DID
Sheehan at Camp LeJeune? — even though I’d like to think the pride of the Marines would exercise discipline. After her antics decrying her son's decision, I think that she'd be taking her life into her own hands to step foot onto a Marine (or any other military) base. Calling a group of trained, hardened ki
Carry a bat. A big one. Made out of aluminum, preferably. Painted Day-Glo pink, if available (so they can see it coming). One thing to rememeber - while they may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer (compa
Since the majority no longer support the war and we know we were not welcomed as liberators, it is a good bet that Congress would not have approved going to war if they had the knowledge of how the war has turned out to date. And if I knew that I'd get food poisoning last night from eating at the diner down
it was Texas W from Hawaii (I believe) It was TW. And it was something done by one of her boys (for a school project, I think). Try as I might, though, I can't seem to find it.
Frankly, that's why I'm such an ardent admirer of Walter E. Williams. He has repeatedly expressed these principles in a way that I can grasp, and has helped change my own outlook. I'm hoping that I, in turn, can change the outlook of more than a few others in return. Ah! The inestimable Mr. Williams. H
COL - could've fooled me. My brother works as a full time maitenance tech for MATES in Virginia. He's (and the other shops at that site) are complaining that they've got more equipment stored there than they have room for. In order to pull a vehicle in for maintenance, they have to spend an hour rearranging things so that they can get one particular piece into the shop. And the equipment coming into them for repairs ... is in no worse shape
Uhm, sadly, this is not a farce. The idiot? jerk? clueless wonder? that runs the site was on Hannity and Colmbs awhile back (sometime this summer) about it. And he's dead serious about this site. Completely clueless and a complete asshat, but deadly serious. I've seen the clip where he was interviewed. Never been happier for those two to tear into someone, before. </fon
The largest grocery chain in Richmond prides itself not on low prices, but on customer service. It is good. And no, its prices are not the lowest. And Walmart has had no effect on them. And Ukrop's has had some REALLY good customer service. We'll go to Wal-mart if we have to, but a lot of the time (for g
All you've done is suggest anyone with a position that they hold true to is incapable of seeing that there are any alternatives to that position and as a result that makes them in some way inferior to you. And then somehow you've made a really weak attempt at linking this behavior wholly and solely to the left. </TA
To quote a famous person*, "Oh, good grief." * A crooked Christmas Tree and a dog biscuit to the one who id's the quoted person.
Is it just me, or is quoting acting funny since T-Man started monkeying with the code? I get the nice "["quote"]" and "["/quote"]" (w/out the " " marks) with none of the selected text appearing in between.
I would say nearer to petersburg! A couple of the counties near here (Dinwiddie and Prince George, in particular) have a high percentage of hicks (which are not to be confused with Rednecks. Rednecks are nice, hicks are just ... hicks). I mean, the grandson of one of the county supervisors was named
I always woundered what it would be like to drive around Wake Forest with a Darwin Fish on the bumper. Looking to get jumped, are we? That's almost as bad as driving around Southside Richmond (or East LA) wi
This falls in the category of - "He probably deserves it, but ... " Since the evidence was destroyed (intentional or not) and an eyewitness is the only remaining proof against the man, there's not enough proof that he deserves death. I don't often agree with Mark Warner (because I think he's a flaming idiot, but that's another story). In this case, I think he did the right thing, but for the exactly wrong things. Hey! Gover
Wow! Reading through some of your back articles (over the summer) I realized that you are one of those that the Army is looking for as an NCO - someone who actually gives a rats ass about people and what's going on. This article just confirmed that. I've been reluctant to chime in on either side of this debate for several reasons - I'm an Army brat, so I'm familiar with a lot of the ... less than stellar aspects of military s
Coming from the side of the husband, here. I know it's very important for my wife to have "Christy time" (see, my wife's name is Christy). Whether that time is just an hour or two vegging out on the couch watching Desperate Housewives on TiVo (side note - since we got a DVR, I don't think we've watched a regularly scheduled program at the time it's originally aired ... ) or off
TW: This is very, very sweet. Are you going to share it with her? I did share this with her (after I posted). Just to make sure that she saw it today. Normally, she does read here, so I don't have to point it out to her. She's
11 years ago today, I stood waiting for at the end of a long aisle for the one person that means the most to me in the whole world. When the music started playing, the doors at the back opened and there she stood, radiant, like an angel that got lost on the way to Heaven. My heart stopped as she walked down the aisle, her hand on her uncle's arm. See, this is where
Eh, Parcell's is not know for putting up w/ loud mouth braggarts. His is more of a team-first approach, where T.O.'s approach is T.O.-first, showboating second, and anything else a distant third. Even if he does end up in Dallas, it isn't going to be this year. Eagles are planning on paying him to warm the bench once the suspension is over.
Yeeeehaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *does the Snoopy dance* Not only does an egotistical, flamboyant braggart get what he deserves .... the Eagles are also going to suffer for their part in the underhanded scheme to acquire him in the first place. Just ot make sure that my loyalties aren't in question ... Go Giants!!!!!
33 Senate seats are up, and all Congressional seats are up. How exactly is that not "national"? Sorry to jump in at this late date... been a little busy w/ a new job and all. The Senatorial and Congressional elections coming up in '06 are local elections. They may be for Federal office, but th
