---So rather than my usual happy disposition, I get a very stern look on my face. On days when I really am feeling that way though, it can get a little overboard, and before long I'll realize that my neck and shoulders are all tense from the combination of trying to look pissed off and actually being pissed off. I find this funny! Sorry Brenden, but it is!--- There was this woman who I worked with who would look pissed off a

---#19 by little-whip Wed, August 23, 2006 06:57 AM--- Your poem reminded me of my grandfather. He hated cold weather, always complained about it. If it got below 70 he would need a heavy coat. One day while looking out his window he said," I hope it snows." I said, "Why? You hate the snow, Grandpa." He said, "I don't hate the snow I hate the cold. I love the snow, it covers everything that is ugly outside."<BR
When I lived in the Midwest I love Autumn. I love the cool weather. I'm so hot blooded I wear shorts year around. Autumn breezes feel so damn good, too. But now that I live in the Southwest I love Winter. The coldest it really gets is mid 30s and the hottest mid 50s. Perfect short wearing weather. What's funny is I used to love winters as a kid. Sledding, building snow forts and having snowball fights. Now I hate being out in the sn
Good story, Doc. The summer in which I turned 9, we moved to the city from a small little town. The very first person I met ended up being one of my best friends up to present day. I haven't seen him in awhile since we both moved out of state in the last few years. I only hope he is doing well. Childhood innocence is so great. You believe the impossible could come true. I'm glad you still have that in you, Doc. After all, you actually
---So when I mention I don't have a TV, don't take it as a sanctimonious declaration of my pious nature. Take it simply as a statement of fact.--- ---But I did think it would be an interesting topic, as so many people I know who don't have TV's tend to act snobbish about it, when that isn't our reason at all.--- I'll be honest when I read the title of your article my first thought was, "Oh boy, here we go again". Not because of you,
David Letterman said, Now that Pluto has lost it's planet status it plans to run as an independent.
I'm sick of the media's fascination with him. You say he controls the Cowboys, hell I think he controls the media. In the media's quest to make it all into tabloid headlines it has made T.O's already huge ego even bigger. I wish all sports fans would just boycott ESPN Sportscenter and all print media for a week. I'm not saying T.O isn't too be blame, too. He is a cancer to any team. A person starve for attention. How can a player so talented s
---You are baiting me! but I love it! If the Mets were in the AL, they WOULD be number 2! Sorry, I can find no fault with the tigers--- No way would the Mets would be number 2 in the AL. No way! I think they would only be the 5th best team at best if they were in the AL. ---But as they are the NL, they will be there. And whoever the AL puts up (forget Boston and ChiSox), the Mets start out on even ground.--- Yes, you are co
---Detroit was never a factor back then.--- They were in the late 80s. It took them a few years to get by Boston then they made the finals in '88 losing in 7 games to L.A.. Then in '89 they whipped the Lakers in 4.
---What is the only team that has a non-losing record to every team in their league? We may lose when we get there, but I like our chances of getting there!--- You mean to tell me the Amazing Mets have a winning record against every team in a league where the 2nd best team in their league, not their division, but their league has barely over a .500 record. Wow! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
I really don't know if I'm one of the people you read who mentioned I don't know my neighbors. It's okay if I was. I think it's great you live in such an ideal neighborhood. Growing up I loved our neighborhood. All the neighborhood kids would play all day. Basketball, football (both touch and tackle), and tag. My brothers and I would sometimes invite our friends over for sleep overs, and laugh and joke all night. I look back to those days fond
---Lots of hugs and an extra scratch behind the ear and on the tummy!--- Well, Donna, now that you taken care of Mason, what you gonna do for Socrates?
---I chose the wandering one, no hurry was I--- Then I chose the pondering one, don't know why. As they looked they both had smiles
I agree with Tex, sometimes sex is just sex. There's an old saying gamblers say,"What's the next best thing to betting and winning? Betting and losing." Well, I'll borrow from it. What's the next best thing to sex with someone you're in love with? Sex with someone you're not in love with. I, too, have had the best sex with women I loved (or at le
---He does look pretty pitiful limping around though.--- Maybe he's not hurt at all maybe he's just mocking you as pay back. ---At least it doesn't seem that he is blaming you.--- Well if he hasn't gotten you yet while you're sleeping then you should be alright. But if you ever step up into your truck, and Socrates is wearing a cowboy h
---now my honey says I get more excited about it than he does--- Well it's true. I can't believe they killed Veronica on the 1st episode already. I wonder who's next.
---He's HOTT. H-O-T-T. Smokin'. On fire. A screaming inferno. I watched the last season wishing I was the prison doctor.....--- Too funny, Dharma.
Being a huge Radiohead fan, I was eagerly awaiting Thom Yorke's solo effort. My brothers and I always give each other reviews on CDs we get. Our tastes are pretty close when it comes to the alternative/modern rock genre. I gave 'The Eraser' an 8 and a half. So I guess your and my rating were pretty close. Excellent review. It will make non-Radiohead fans want to listen to the solo work, and the group's classic stuff. And it make Radiohead fans hungrier for the group's next project.
Trudy: ---I think it's the whole trust issue as I mentioned above to Dr. Guy, when you meet a new neighbor it takes time to form a relationship, and while you have the tone of voice, body lanuage, gestures, facial expressions that you don't have here, you don't feel secure for a long time. I like to know who's living in my neighborhood, to some degree. I like to be able to know who's cars belong in the parking lot, ( small community) who's walking through or cutting across my lawn
Jythier: ---As for friends turning to enemies, it's the same thing, only backwards. They know you, and what buttons to press. Also, they have the feeling that the friendship is in the past, so why bother reviving it?--- Well said. I also think a lot of times when good friends get in disagreements what is said hurts more, which in turn makes it hard to try to capture your friendship back because each are feeling the other should make
Little Whip: ---I put the word 'hate' in quotation marks because I can honestly say I've never actually hated anyone i've come to know here, (even the vile dabe, who made me laugh as often as she made me shake my virtual fist at the screen.) Disliked, sure. Disliked intensely? You bet! Found infuriating? Bingo. But hated? Nahh.--- I really dislike the word myself. I don't think I could ever find myself hating anyone here. But again i
Knowing the bad view from my house (we live in a desert) I'm already jealous of your view, and that's without seeing any pics yet. Considering I know how much you loved your last home I'm glad everything is working out well in your new one. Now get back in here and do some blogging. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm
Zoologist03: ---Very good article, by the way--- Thank you, Zoo ---I've never really, "not liked" anyone on here...besides some trolls and flamers...but they eventually pass. I just stay out the way if two bloggers are fighting it out.--- I always stay out of the way if they are fighting. Sometimes it you who gets hurt if you step in the middle. Just let them go and hopefully they will work it out. I know when I'm arguing with someone in real life it pisses
Dr.Guy: ---YOu are right Udigit.--- Of course I am! only kidding. --- We only know people here by how much they want to share here on JU. But is that not unlike our neighbors as well? Most of my neighbors dont air their laundry in public, so all we know of them is what they chose to share.--- Well, I'm going to come off as sound
Little Whip: ---Good article, Udig, and thanks for the mention.--- Thanks, Whip. I was hoping you would see the article. I used you not only because my first impression of you was what I said, but also because it seems out of all the bloggers here you may have the most opinions about you by other bloggers. It seems people either really like you or really dislike you. ---I had no idea you harbored such negative feelings tow
