Happy Birthday and lot's more! ;)

It doesn't support .NET. Yes, there is similar consistency between all VB languages but, primarily DX supports scripting in VBScript and JScript. Scripting is limited compared to a full on programming languages such as VB or .NET but, DX does have plugin capabilities and the ability to use activeX controls. For some ideas check out the DesktopX Tutorial Section of the Wiki. ;) [link="http://wiki.wincustomize.com"]Oh Wiki You're So fine, hey wiki[/link]
Could you give a list of some of the weather widgets? I doubt you tried all of them. Also, some system spec's would help? What OS etc.
Glad to hear. Have never had that problem because I've never used indexed images only True Color. It makes sense though. Was pretty sure it wasn't a DX issue.
Happy Birthday Bichur. :CONGRAT:
So, did you remove the script and change the states?
Okay, I'm reading this and since I don't have Vista you will need to perhaps enlighten me a bit. Anytime I've had problems has been a result of my own stupidity of connecting to the internet from a administrator account with full privileges. Having AV, Firewalls, etc is the equivalent to leaving your keys in the ignition of your car, locking the doors and figuring everything will be fine. Chances are someone who knows what they're doing will be able to open those doors and steal your r
I'm modifying the Fishy widget
That's an animated widget. In object properties select the states tab. At the bottom select the animation tab. Change frames to 1.
nvm... here's the answer.... 42
???? No more caffeine after 6 pm for you! ;)
Most likely you need to adjust the math formulas.
Here's a couple hints: - Where you see the word "width" change to Height. (Including variables) - Where you see the word "left" change to Bottom (If zero is at the bottom)
Awesome applets!
umm *cough* avelets?
Haven't had many problems with anything Ave's developed. Any of his install apps in the past usually clean up after themselves on uninstall. Contact information is at the bottom of the page. Or he might read this and chime in.
Night Train, thanks for clarifying that. Yeah, formal education will get people there quicker but, only when combined with practical experience. That's why I think co-op type work experience is such an integral part of any education.
The flipside to that is there are a lot of people that would be proud to call themseleves amateur graphic artists.
There's also a third group that would just consider themselves artists. ;)
Under tools menu, select options. Choose the content tab and select manage filetypes is zip in that list? Also do you have DownthemAll or FlashGot or some other download extension installed?
If people want to make money doing graphic work then go to school and train like the rest of the world has done for ages.
That's kind of a narrow minded comment. Some of the most talented people I know never had a day of formal education in their field.
If you really think that sitting at home in front of your computer is going to generate any lucrative results you hit the bong a few too many times.
The same could be said for finding a j
Exactly. With a few bucks being available it makes the potential for more free content IMO because when you have a vested interested in the community/marketplace you are more likely to want to build it. I'm thinking of doing affiliate/sponsored gadgets. My first one will be called "IconOn" and hopefully HeadOn could sponsor it? Insert annoying jingle here. ;p
Phoon, The community and free sharing of content depends primarily on the community. People come and go...some never return. Community relies heavily on participation and feedback which seems to be trivial or non existent lately. I haven't heard any master's say I'm only going to make commercial skins even with some of the frustrations they have. A kind or constructive word goes along way. Also, I would be hard pressed to find any digital design house providing the amount of f
In the states section. Instead of selecting a pre-existing state. Type your own. Like this:
What troubles me is the thought of a fully commercial centered monopoly on it all where only the select few are able to make skins and it becomes a guarded business secret on how to do so because skinning becomes more of a business opportunity to score some cash rather than something fun to do for the sake of having a creative outlet.
The only way it could become some sort of guarded secret is if Stardock made SkinStudio some overly exorbitant price. Doubtful that will ha
Under Object Properties. 1. Select States tab 2. Select State. Eg. Mouse Away 3. Select Messages Tab (Right next to sound tab) '-- Repeat the next for each object 4. Select Add 5. Choose the object Id option and find the object(s) you want to control 6. Select the Message. Eg. If Mouse Away is the state you are editing then you probably want Mouse Away for the other objects. 7. Select Ok '--Repeat 4 through 7 for each object. Does this for each state
Okay. My animation was old and needs some work. The simplest method is to create two states. Name the first state back and the second state front. Then use this code to change them.
'Called when L-click is released Function Object_OnLButtonUp(x, y, dragged) If Not dragged Then If Object.State= "back" Then Object.State="front" ElseIf Object.State="front" Then Object.State="back" End If End If End Function
Oooo, I did one of these a long time ago when I first started with DX. Will have a look through my archives. Are you using two images or an animated png flip?
One thing I've been wondering is since the creation of MyColors (which appears to be targeting primarily users) was it not inevitable that more QA staff would be needed? The discounts make sense and IMO are deserved. From one perspective is Stardock not reducing the costs associated with development of another program by the "active" participation of loyal users?
I had thought DesktopX to have been one of the core programs that Stardock took pride in
I'm pretty s
