Ok...I am sure this has been asked, but my searchfu is down today...bad day...Anyway, WHen I get a champion with a bonus, lets say +1 Reasearch point a turn, OR any other for that matter you think of it, does he/she have to be in a city in order to contribute that bonus? Or do they just give it as a whole to the pool from anywhere? -Gizmet

You are talking in the campaign correct? Yeah, i was confused to...You need to split your forces and send one group to the south to warn all the previous sovs you met. Then take the boats that are given to you northwest, make landfall near the area you can't get past with your other forces, the obsidian wall I think its called. That will then open up the wall. Took me a bit to figure it out too. -Gizmet

Ok, I just got the game on disk...as I am US Army Soldier and am deployed right now, its tough to get the updates....so I only have the version thats on disk. That being said is book I: Reilas the only campaign? I completed that book last night and wanted to know if there was more to it because I dont see any more. -Gizme

Is there a Tech Tree poster out there? in Strategies GalCiv2 Forums

Hello, I just got the game and have dove into playing it, but I noticed that the tech tree is massive and I can't quite tell where to start researching and where it will lead me. Is there a poster of the tech tree for each race or a place where I can get one or something so I can know where/how I want to run my research? -Gizmet

"Probably the biggest thing a lot of new players don't notice is that when you colonize a planet, it actually drains money from your income and you need to upgrade its Infrastructure (first upgrade option) before it starts generating money through population taxes. A good rule of thumb that works for me is that you should expand when you can afford this upgrade as soon as the planet is colonized." New to game....need SERIOUS help in Strategy Sins Forums

Hello all, I just bought the game and I like it so far, but I can't seem to do anything right...:) What I mean is I am playing in the small 1v1 map, vs AI, and he comes in with this HUGE fleet...something like 3 cap ships and and TON of various frigates. Me? I am lucky to have one cap ship with a few frigates because I can't seem to make any credits, metal or crystals.
