This has to do with the ship currently selected in the shipyard if you select user these are one you created and will appear on the tech same with core ships except they are predesigned.. and if you select all you probably see all of the ships on the tech tree.. not all shure myself...

Look you can't break an alliance with minors for some reason try to ask someone to take that system for you and then you can get it culturally if you are superior enough or you can just grab it for yourself by declaring war on the race that took the minor over..

Calm down!! alright lets take it from the top you say that your economy is in shamble only suggestion is start over because you will go bankrupt and there is not recovery...Start by going down the diplomacy lines first to get trade and by an economic capital helps if you don't buy eveything from the start... choose some abitilites that have a positivie start effect on your economy such as Econmics on master 30% increase or morale to be able to raise your tax level higer and gain a higer income..

i'm pretty sure you can never ally with them again. You Sure can, when you break an alliance your relations go down to friendly you just need to raise them again to agian see the alliance options.. remember the only requirements for an alliance are the tech and close relations not past relations...
