Intresting I didn't know that but i still don't think it matters if you could use it for something better right.
El Conquest
Or just demad all the resources they have grabbed within your territory and have them watch as you easily ally with everyone to take them over in an efficient manner, I mainly go to war with someone to test new ship designs not really to win a game as fast as i can with the most brute force I can.
Also as contiuation you may be able to stick engines on these later with the miniturization tech line you know so they aren't so sluggish. I built a ship with 2 arnorian battle armor's on it with only a few railguns and it took my enemy 3 fleets of differnet ships with a multitude of weapons to destroy it.
I have a game where the drath were compleatly surrounded by the Altarians and had a considerable military and they were hostile towards the Altarians I would have given them Galactic Stock Exchanges and Expert Diplomacy plus numerus other things, (Expert Diplomacy has the Galactic Showcase for diplomacy bonus) they still came to me with this same excuse.
You can build a ship basically for defense manily weapons and defenses nothing else build these to protect planets the extra defense should keep it alive for a little longer at least if you have a good weapon structure to back up your defense.
I see no inherent need for infuence bounes esp with planets far from a border use them for something more usefull.
Strange?? But I like the list of bonuses for this. Intersting!
I wouln't think so, I mean they shouln't the only real answer is that the AI sees what Stardock has programmed it to see. supposedly this could mean they could see anything they want to you know sort of like playing on genuis AI's and they getting abilites that we don't acually know.
If you are evil and only have one route consider putting economic starbases along this route and go for master trade and build trade centers on all of them and you should see income for that route skyrocket. I think that 100% economy tiles were not implemented because of the sheer amount of economic ability enhancemets in the beginnig of a game. not always wise to build a economic structure on a morale bonus esp. when the amount of farms can be increased to support a larg
I think they put more weight on the military score counter and so the AI are now paranoid to declare war against a stronger enemy you can put everything on the table and there excuse is "there military power is just too strong forget it" even when you are allied with them and have the strongest military.
They have or most of them have stellar cartography tech so they actually know were the planets are to start with.
Micromangement is always a pain but sometimes we just have to live with it till someone mods something to lessen that as such with micromangement of colonies.
These should apply to both you and the AI consecutively and there is supposed to be a higher degree of thought put into these maps should you use them.
Wait for 1.2 when your ships acually can defend a planet with very few hit points this will probably reivigarate my intrest in small and tiny hulled ships.
I have not seen any defect in the space availiable for componet use if the survey module is added for free, I mean the numbers don't seem to change or anything. I'm not sure if the Guidebook itself increases sensor range but maybe the survey module has that bonus to it this is over turnned when you build the Eyes of the Universe because sensors are to the max they can get in that case.
I usually at least at this point play a gigantic map with all nine players it is quite a tustle in the beginning of the game getting everything rolling and grabbing the best planets with my ion drive ships my opponets are at intellegent i find it to easy to grab things quickly if you are not placed by any opponets so you just expand and economize in peace and if you are the Terrans with a diplomacy bonus you can declare war on the Torians for a Military Resoure they just won't sell you. Everyon
That's what I thought so I would either build it on a very high quality planet just kind of using space, with so many tiles can't possibly use them all, but I can see were if they altered the bonus for the Guidebook like maybe giving you a huge bonus for anomoly exporation or something else that is useful for scout ships (tiny ships are better than cargo ships for scouts maybe redcing the size of sensors avaible) there is some possiblity for improvement in that case.
I guess that is a useable benefit for the privateer thanks Josh.
I have found new costs for things like missile launchpads and laser equalisers [since 1.1 came out] but I have always had to pay for battlestations unless you have an alignment of evil (evil races don't pay for starbase modules,)once you have researched Xeno Ethics. Base Cost for Battlstations 200bc each sequential battlestations upgrade 100bc to install.
I have noticed this trend with the Galactic Gidebook where it lets you have a survey module on any ship. but I have noticed that either it does not bring down the survey module size or there is no anomolies let for you to explore in the galaxy. The Galactic Privateer says it protects your trade routes but my frieghters are still attacked and destroyed so I can't understand why you would waste your time constructing either wonder would you?
This and the major tech gap between them and the others might suggest intimidation don't you think?
I have seen this happen if you have overwritten a previous ship design but never this way.
If you play on tough with the AI's set at all intellegent i find there is a considerable jump to how the Drengin and the Yor play and for me they tend to grab a considerable chunk of the galaxy. there seems to be some sort of backdraw to the evil players on levels below tough.
Sorry about that!!! my bad misread the question!
spleeze_, I would love to see that prometheius ship come out soon I think the double engines and the base design is too coo
