Or, if you want to be sure of the renewal price, renew it beforehand. There is nothing to stop any subscriber paying $35 now and buying another year of full coverage to take effect after their current subscription expires. As Brad says, current users of Object Desktop will be upgraded to Ultimate Edition - and that will only expire when the current subscription does.

prjxtab.ocx is a public component used by several other applications, but not used by TweakVista. I would suggest that you find a virus checker, as it is quite possible that the installer came with something you were not expecting. Deleting the program files from Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\TweakVista should be all you really need to do to remove TweakVista, though it will probably not do anything for the Uninstall entry (or anything else that came with the torrent).

The error message described suggests that WMI (Windows Management Infrastructure) is not correctly configured on your computer. Hi there, liquidguru. I'm sorry you had trouble activating TweakVista. The sig.bin file should work, however you should not put it in the application directory. Instead, please place it in the C:\ProgramData\Stardock\TweakVista directory (create this if it is not present). It goes there so that regular users are also able to activate the product, as they cannot write to the application directory.

This is a known problem for some systems which have not correctly run a system assessment on initial load. A fix should be up for both the trial and the full version shortly. It is archaic. That is why we have Stardock Central. You should be able to download the registered version from the Object Desktop section if you are logged in with a Stardock.net account that uses the email that you purchased with. It is probably a good idea to run the uninstall for the trial first, just to make sure it is removed from your system.

You do not need to use Stardock Central to register TweakVista. You need to use the install package linked in your serial email, or you can use Stardock Central to download and install it. You can tell that you have the registered version because it will not have any features disabled. Without a serial number or email with a registration attached to it, you cannot get support for the registered features of TweakVista. The initial CD versions of Galactic Civilizations II were distributed similarly - there is no serial check on initial install. However subsequent versions of the game from 1.1 to 1.5 (each of which added features) have required serial numbers. Similarly, you will require your serial for upgrades to TweakVista - although Stardock Central may handle

To clarify what may be a misunderstanding: If you start TweakVista, and it does not give you the trial screen, you already have the registered version installed, and you can use it without limitation. If it does not, then you need to install the registered version instead of the trial, either through Stardock Central when logged in or using the installer linked in your serial email. This installer contains the registered version and not the trial version. The installer from Download.com

If you're logged in, Stardock Central doesn't need you to give it the registration code - it already knows that you bought the product. Your Stardock.net email address and password allows you to download and install all the products you have bought from Stardock.

Regarding memory fragmentation - this is something we are aware of and will be attempting to address in 1.7. There are various things that can be done, such as allocating in bulk and using the Low Fragmentation Heap, though ultimately there is no permanent solution except for but some form of garbage collection. Not sure which latest version you're referring to, but current 64-bit versions should not have any kind of DirectSkin OCX installed in the first place, because the specific kind of OCX TweakVista uses is not yet supported on 64-bit.
