My Utmost For His Highest Good book! Yes, a classic!! Have you read it? I know many that read it every year.
KFC Kickin For Christ
I've never experienced God doing the impossible. I suppose some people believe they have. And of course, the argument is that if God does not do for you what you ask, either you did not have sufficient faith or what you asked for was something you did not need. People can say this I suppose. But I find
"Lord, that I may receive my sight." Luke 18:41 What is the thing that not only disturbs you but makes you a disturbance? It is always something you cannot deal with yourself. "They rebuked him that he should hold his peace....but he cried so much the more." Persist in the disturbance until you get face to face with the Lord Himself; do not deify common s
Yes, I liked that one too. But they all made me smile (except the last one) cuz they all have such a ring of truth to them.
(((((((((((((((((G))))))))))))))))))))) everyone needs a hug once in a while!!!!!
no..... but when Jesus said....." Before Abraham was,I AM" he was declaring himself God of the OT to the Jews. The Jewish leaders knew exactly what he was saying, enough to pick up the stones to kill him for it. They made themselves to be gods and here was this man, Jesus calling himself God and the people were listening. Crowds were following him. Why? Because his words gave them hope. And he had more than just words to
Gotta laugh....... "It was the first State of the Union Mr. Bush has given in which Congress seemed utterly pre-9/11 in terms of battle lines drawn...It seemed a metaphor for the Democrat Party: "We don't know where to stand or what to stand for, and in fact we're not good at standing for anything anyway, but at least we know we can't stand Republicans.
Yes, I feel the same as Tova. It sounds to me that God is calling you out for something he has in store for you. I've seen this before in my life as well as the lives of others. But Christ loves the church and instituted it because he knew we needed this to stay together in fellowship. Like a log on the fire, if it rolls away from the other logs, it will soon go out. The same with us. The world is a cold, lonely place for a Christian.
You agree with whom? Satan?
Wasn't it "I AM" that appeared to Moses and gave him the Commandments? Didn't Jesus say that he is that same "I AM"? Jesus is Jehovah God of the OT. Yes! While I'm one of those "close minded Christ only believers," I also believe that God has a great plan still for the Jews. It says
I'm with you almost 100%...I do believe in just war and capitol punishment tho but everything else I'm with ya. Feel better?
I just happen to call that creator God. BTW....did you know the creator God, Elohim , of the OT is Jesus of the NT?
Whatever happened to scrabble, parchesi or......chess!!
No, it's not just "imperfection". Here in town, I have a choice between churches that believe it's a mortal sin if I play "amazing grace" on my guitar, or one where I will have to face false allegations of abuse and neglect after every week if I DARE show my face there. If I go into town, I have a choice between those two sorts o
Again I'll say I have never heard of a muslim cleric denouce violence. I listened for this when the planes went into the building, I waited when three Christian girls were beheaded on their way to school in Indonesia. Not a word. How about when Muslims murdered over 80 tourists in Egypt with car bombs outside cafes and hotels? Nope. Not a word again. How about the time they killed teachers and kids in Russia, even shooting children
wow DJ.....pretty generous there and gas going for over 2 bucks a gallon to boot!! I guess I know which side of the fence you're on.
A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the highway. Nothing is moving. Suddenly a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down his window and asks, "What happened?" "Terrorists have kidnapped Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton. They are asking for a $10 million ransom. Otherwise they are going to douse them with gasoline and set t
NO ONE BELIEVES IN THE CIRCUMSTANCE ABOVE. Find me a single person, a single organizational Christian doctrine that believes that God either must answer the prayer above or not exist. Never mind the untold numbers of other belief systems that accept the existance of a god besides Christianity. This is t
Jill, Yes, an atheist says "there is no God." But also can say, "I lack belief." An agnostic says "I can't be sure there is a God." If you have a feeling there is one, but still not sure, then I guess you'd be a searching agnostic. I can't prove to you that God exists either. I can't prove to you that God exists using the bible, because the bible doesn't attempt to prove that God exists. It just speaks as though he doe
Hey Tova I just got an email alert from AFA saying there is a new game out for parents to be aware of. It's called 25 to Life. It basically teaches kids to kill policemen and use civilians as shields. I actually heard a talk one time by a military man entitled "Teaching our Kids to Kill." He said that kids have amazing accuracy when shooting at targets. His take is that the accuracy is linked to these games. He went to Columbine
It seems like there are two different atheists here. I see Fox saying "There is no God," with certainty and a high hand to God and I see Jill saying "I don't believe there is a God, I simply lack belief." Why don't you believe? What would be stopping you from taking that step of faith?
But you believe whatever it is you need to believe to make it through the day No Dharma, You couldn't be more wrong about me. You have no idea. I am a truth seeker. I've left nice comfy religions because I studied myself out of them. I'm a junkyard dog with a bone when it comes to any sort
here's another.....from truth or fiction.com Summary of the eRumor A story said to be written by prison minister Rick Mathes describes a confrontation between him and Moslem during a prison training session for those who have clearance to visit the prison. He challenged the Moslem about whether Islam teaches the killing of infidels and allegedly reduced him to child-like shame. The Truth We contacted Rick Mathes,
This is not a total work of fiction as Dharma is leading us to believe. Rick Matthes and his wife are the founders of Mission Gate Prison Ministries. Here's a bit more to the story. Sounds to me while it was true...it was somewhat embellished. Mathes, however, maintains that his is an accurate account, using the facts he knew at the time, and did go into some more detail making the encounter seem less antagonistic than his original
One of the things I'm thinking is, "why hasn't anybody jumped in with arguments about how Christians run around preaching--and perpetrating--violence and murder?" Oh and this? I'd really have to know who you mean here. If a so called Christian is preaching violence and murder.....I'd have to question
