The modern Essenes, a resurrection of the old order, believe that the scriptures as they exist in the modern Christian bible were actually altered by Rome to better fit the desires and ideas of Rome. The Essenes are vegetarians and abstain from alcohol. Well not sure why they would believe that. If

Has God provided us with anything else? I believe that He's given us wisdom, seated within our souls Well I would say the Holy Spirit. That's what he promised us before he ascended. He said he would leave us the comforter or another name is helper. This is what governs my life and helps me. Without

When we unpeel all layers of evolution, we arrive at the same place, whether we believe in 7-day Creation or billions of years. In other words, we can either believe that we exist for a higher purpose, or we can believe that we're cosmic accidents. From the point of view of the intellect, we can leave the ultimate mysteries as sacred, because there's no proof either way. B

I'm here. But for some reason only can see the last response which is your's Andy #101. So I can't comment on whatever was previously written. I was reading today about Abraham. How God took his good as dead body and brought an heir through him and his barren wife. Paul talks about this in Romans. God gave Abraham the promise when he was 75 that He would make him a great nation. The only problem was he and his wife were barren. And t

The Jewish concept of the Messiah is not like the Christian concept. The Jewish Messiah will not be a saviour or some god-like being. He will be a normal human being. He will bring peace to Israel and the world. From a biblical Christian perspective....you have just described the Anti-Christ. This is e

Yes, but not sure when it was. I thought maybe it was today? But if you saw it already......must be past history. He also marched in Bush's and that was a thrill of a lifetime for him.

People’s opinions about the Bible differ, and non-Christians aren't bound to the Bible’s point of view in the first place. This is true. A non Christian could give two hoots about what the bible says. I know that. The people I've met that have the most to say against scripture are the ones that haven'

What's your view about a God of unconditional love, KFC? Well I think you gave an example of it....Christ stretched his arms on the cross and showed us what this love looked like. He's the perfect example. He loved us so much that he died for us. There is no greater love than when one dies for another. No conditions met. Love is an action wor

Hey Guys, Seems like I'm in hostile territory here. I've been in many cults and religions. I've studied the scriptures for about 30 years with the last ten being very indepth. I am currently not only teaching but learning as well. The one thing I try to do is sort fact from opinion. We all have opinions. Opinions are ok but facts are better. Opinions quite often are built on shaky ground. Facts you can build on. That's step on

believe Jesus was an extremely important teacher who changed mankind for the better. His compasionate ways and peaceful messages are important no matter what religion you are affiliated with. But that doesn't mean that he had to be the son of God. This "teacher" said he was not only the "son" of Go

Hey Dude, How ya been? We are studying Genesis here in depth and I was thinking of your Noah selection before I noticed you put it in there. Yes God's grace is seen throughout the OT as well as the NT. My guess your point for next is that grace was in the OT and is in the NT and the Law was in the OT and also in the NT? Am I on the right track.....? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALI

I respect you for having your beliefs and living accordingly. You obviously have no respect for mine or feel there is a possibility that you don't have all the answers because that is part of your religion. That's fine. I just don't have any interest in that kind of one sided conversation. Why do you sa

There's something about the third one. They seem to always be the worst ever. My third is the reason there is no fourth. He never slept thru the night unitl he was three!! He always had an excuse when he got old enough to talk (which was early). I remember losing it at 2 am when he said "my eyebrow hurts." The night before it was his "hair." I told him his hair couldn't hurt cuz it was dead. I was not a happy camper. At two or three in the morning....he didn't get much sympath
