I've activated mine to load on start up and it's fine ,i suggest you remove the hdd casing and check you set the hdd to slave (no jumpers ?? check diagram on hdd label for correct setting) rather than cable select as i've found in the past cable select tends to do strange things to my comp "shrugs" and yes i run externals also, apart from that i aint got anything else to suggest.

No it is not necessary to delete anything in zero's or the topic starters case ,right clik on an empty area on the loaded dock that appears ,clik on settings and untick hide taskbar then clik on "my docks" , as i use tabs and not dock it was a matter of reinstalling saved theme, tho in your case zero it maybe necessary to start again by removing the dock in the config(assuming you have plus) and then clik on "add dock' etc ,either way the problem lies

LMAO - In the last two months defender will no longer update itself even if i go to the update site and do it manually, it says such n such update installed ...lol... then going back even after a restart the update is still there...lol... has something to do with a patch that was downloaded earlier as one of the cnet editors mentioned the same prob with his comp , at least one can rely on ol' trusty ad-aware ...lol...

Yep spam sux alright as your email addy gets passed round other spammers as i've found out ,tho it's only the odd email and then i just report it as spam to my ISP and they'll add it to their bock list , for anyone out there for future reference go get ya self a yahoo account or similar and any new sites you sign upto use that as you can delete the account if necessary and make a new one and use your main account for friends and trusted sites.
