As an option, sure. I prefer it the way it is.

I have wondered the same thing.
Everyone votes at the same time. I thought that was quite obvious.
No, all AI:s always use their default stats. I have read that we will be able to play against custom races in the expansion.
I was like you before and didn't want the ai:s to cheat. But let me tell you, I started my latest game with crippling AI and random intelligence and the game is so much more fun and challenging then a tough game.
I agree. The AI needs seperate build algorithms for different pq-levels. Maybe one for pq<=6 for example that forbade it from building farms or morale buildings and some other stuff.
Not really. A single ship with 1 in attack will destroy it in a fight although it will take a really long time.
Like I said, I never have to exit and enter to see the "correct time". I always see the "correct time" as soon as I have anything in the social project list. The only time I see a incorrect time, 'Never', is when my social project list is empty and I'm choosing among the available projects. But there is another bug, the "correct time" on the planet screen is often incorrect (a couple of turns less then it should be) while the remaining time is always displayed correctly in the Civilis
Drengin attack anyone that shows the slightest weakness in my games. And they are quite good at it, they have probably conquered more races then all the other AI:s combined.
By the way, having armor availabe in first two missinons at all is design flaw (useless tech). No, it's that way for story reasons. Shields haven't been invented yet so both Terran and Drengin use the defense they actually have and that is armor. Besides, 1 in armor is as good as 1 in shields.
I think that the problem is that the AI designs new ships far too seldom. He begins building the 0/0-defenders before he has any weapons in order to stop a transport-rush. Then it just takes too long before he designs his next-generation ships.
Extreme defense is not bad an idea, just like extreme attack, but the Computer AI, uses neither, that is the problem! Not true, I've seen AI ships with 15 attack, 50 defense or the other way around, both in my first and only 1.1-game so far.
I suspect that the answer for best building will overwhelmingly be Neutrality Learning Centers. For where they fall on the tech tree, they are simply awe inspiring. I also like how it seems a bit sinister due to the red colour it has. That's because they are using the pictures that originally was meant for the 'Museum of Pain' <img src="http://imag
Since I have never ever seen the AI:s research NLC and have only once seen one of them research Xeno Ethics, I don't think it's that they are too good that are the problem. The problem is that the AI:s ignore them which makes it easy for the player who don't.
Yeah, I'm in the same position in my current game. The Drengin have triple the research of anybody else but still not that many more colonies but their ships are so much better then all others, even mine. It's gonna be a fun game.
What conclusion was I to make? Well, you could have drawn the conclusion that if you are writing lots of gibberish, it's going to be ignored. "Rai and Jiri at Lungha. Rai of Luwani, Luwani under two moons. Jiri, of Ubaya. Ubaya of crossed roads, at Lungha. Lungha, her skies grey" might have made sense to you but it didn't to me. <TA
I misspoke ...they didn't give it to me, they gave it to another AI. I was trying to make the point that when they help with ships, they value the help much differently than when they value starbases. I don't think they changed how the AI values starbases, they just blocked them from going to the player. Either that or the method of valuing "gifts" is much different than w
Yep, I have auto-turn disabled and it works correctly for me too.
Yes, I know what being a grammar nazi means. Better then you apparantly. Use of these terms is often considered derogatory.
Do you change ship designs everytime you get a 'new' component? (Well, I suppose I can only speak for myself) Sure, It WOULD be great, but not at the expense of game play (if it is as CPU intensive as Frogboy says) I would just rather that it change designs at times that make sense, or else when certain tech
Or better yet, upgrading every time they get a new ship component.
Actually no, I didn't read your whole post. I saw a lot of gibberish quotes which made me ignore most of it. I have read it through now but I didn't find anything else of interest to comment. And since you have begun with personal insults now, implying that I couldn't manage to read through three lines of text and am a grammar Nazi, we might as well end this discussion between us, don't you agree?
I can't get the AI to sell influence resources, but I have had them give them away to assist in a fight against an enemy. Sometimes I'll get a few ships, worth maybe 500bc and another time I get an influence resource that they wouldn't trade for 70k bcs. Something screwy there. And this was with 1.1 I thought that they had fixed so that the AI:s neve
From the gaming point of view, if the drengin don't care about diplomacy at all, i can keep them from attacking me, regardless of their cool guns and hulls... Well, if that's the case, it's stupid and should be changed. Diplomacy shouldn't have such a huge effect on relations that it makes all the other things that affect relations meaningless. Dreng
We don't "love" it, we just don't CARE. No, if you didn't care, you wouldn't post in this thread at all. So you obviously do care and you obviously like the typos, otherwise why would you try to see to it that they stay in the game? Sure, there are people who actually don't care but they don't post here and there are also those who believe that
