They have "under-the-hood" modifiers to reduce their diplomatic sucess as far as I'm aware. Quoted because some people didn't seem to get it the first time. This means that it's harder to get good relations with other races and they are more likely to declare war against you. However it may be that they still are a little overpowered. But

It seems that you either don't have the latest patch or hasn't begun a new game yet with it. What's new in 1.0X(.1) ... + Fixed Planetary improvements: Virtual Reality Center and Stock Exchange to be better. ... https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=104660

A followup to my last post. I seem to have gotten some things wrong. This is now my understanding of how the AI uses his different military shipclasses: Tiny: Fighter: No engines. Attacker. Small: Defender: No engines. Defending planets. Heavy Fighter: No engines. Attacker. Escort: Multiple engines (often see them with two). Defending transports. Medium: Frigate: 0-1 engines. Attacker. Cruiser: 0 engines (at least I don

Same is true on ships. It's easy to say AI should build faster ships. But the AI doesn't script out what technologies it should get. The reason the aI doesn't currently tend to have faster ships is because it doesn't priorities getting faster propulsion techs enough. Not exactly true. For example in my

Of course! After all is SO DAMN HARD to spell a five letters word right that is totally unreasonale to expect someone actually doing it... Once again, you add nothing at all to this discussion. And how are you better than him? I'm from Sweden and I know english grammar better than you. To everyone else: If you go into planet details

Greatmirror: Sure, I might. But you're just playing the aggressive approach. This game is not just a battle of military might like a RTS, you're losing all the fun. It's the subtleties of it, all the other viable victory approaches. And besides, winning isn't everything, you know, it's getting there that's fun. Some of us prefer to play the agg

Because I can tell you right now, if you're beating the AI with a decent mix of planets (i.e. where they have several planets) on a decent sized map then I suspect there's an exploit involved somewhere. I wouldn't call these exploits, I would call these bad military judgements. * The AI often sta

Well, I for one don't want to be able to terraform class 0 world. First, it's silly to have every planet in the galaxy colonised. Second, it would supposedly be lot of work for very little benefit. They would be low-level crap. Third, if I ignored my class 0 planets, the AI would probably terraform and colonise them and they would probably end up mine anyway because of culture. And like I said, I don't want crap planets. I ha

Yeah, it happens all the time in real life so why shouldn't we copy our lovable politicians when we are playing galactic dictator. But it would be nice if the citicens had some memory. For example, it could be easy to fool them once. Alot harder if you did the same thing two or more elections in a row.

Learn to stay on-topic and post something that anybody actually cares about. The number of minors are now randomized depending on galaxy size. Before, I think that there always were 4 minors on large, 8 on gigantic etc... I got 0 minors on my latest large game and I must say that I didn't miss them at all, IMO they don't add anything to the game right now.

So you didn't notice that the Mind Control Center gave you a galaxy-wide 100% economy bonus, nearly doubling your taxes? It's kinda hard to miss. It's probably the single most overpowered building in the game right now. Should either be doing what the description says or get a new description and a nerfed percentage.

Yor start off as chaotic evil AND they have a diplomatic penalty against every other race. Torians have +-0 in range compared to other races. If you want to take a look at what the different races solar systems are like, take a look in CustomPlanets.xml

The Stock Market thing was fixed in the latest patch 1.0X.1. Note that you have to start a new game to get the new improved one. Minor races: I agree to a point. They seem fairly useless. I have seen some good suggestions for improving them in this forum, for example letting them colonise planets in their system. Fog of war: I agree, it would be nice if it would cover planets unless you had sufficient espionage. Population & farms: I have 1 t

There are still some fleet movement bugs left in the gam (after 1.0X.1) * I attacked an enemy with a fleet and all my ships except one died. The surviving ship got back his full movement. * If a fleet has 0 movement and you add a ship with movement, the fleet sometimes gains some movement.
