Your relations with the other race must be better than friendly. Don't remember if it's called "warm" or "close" but it's one step after friendly relations.

Yes 1.0D was the original BonusPack version - also called Digital Release ( 21 februari ) 1.0D1 is the patched version of the BonusPack. ( 24 februari ) "Enable-GalCiv2-Collectors-Edition.exe" gives you the Collectors Edition content. "Galactic_Civilizations_II_Desktop.exe" does the same with the addition of Stardock's Theme Manager and a GalCiv theme. A KICKASS Galciv theme. <img src="http://images.stardock.
Haha maybe the Killer chicken design has +6 Bird Flu poison damage
All races get 10 ability points and you can assign unspent points yourself (or even unselect abilities) so no race is "weaker" than another.
Ok the first Metaverse game I played failed to register correctly because of serial key issues.. so I messed a bit with the serials and played a test game with a new character ( resign after 2 turns ) Tought I'd share 2 observations : - Though I played as Arceans, my Metaverse character mentions Altarians as favorite race while the meda
My list of suggestions, though most things in here were mentioned before. 1) An "unselect all" keyboard button. The number of times I move a ship or a fleet I thought I deselected is amazing. Stacks are hard to manage. Often I select a planet or star to ascertain my ships are unselected. 2) A copy function for your ship designs (or possibly even core designs) so you can update a new version and keep the old one. <br
Only one of you needs alliance tech iirc. That's not an issue. Getting a close relationship is harder. I once had ++ Military strength ++ Diplomatic ability + Trade + Alignment + Historic friendship with the Altarians and still they were only "friendly" not "close". I only managed to get them close to me by giving them a ton of techs and ships as a gift. Diplomatic victory baby <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/T
Same probs here.
There's a combat simulator in the Metaverse as well... This is very handy as an off-line version though.
You're welcome buddy
I sure hope this update rids me of those blasted crashes. They downgrade my GalCiv experience from fantastic to just slightly good. I hope you keep working on behalf of the few people who have these problems. Congratz on the game btw, it rocks, and sorry for all the worries caused
Poor ignorant goatRider Its a "size" slider that only has effect if you currently have a part selected. Watch the ship design tutorial to see it in action
Still more crashes... now it even happens in the middle of a turn, when I try to move a sensor ship... Help?
It seems some of the problems are very specific. For example, the frequent crashes in the campaign mission Apocalypse completely stopped after I decommissioned (destroy button) the scout that I received at the start of the mission. It was a gamble based on the weird behavior of autopilot destinations being changed to the location of the scout. It seems that scout was the culprit... nocrashes since its removal. Very weird stuff
Game crashes : At first the game often crashed when I saved, thereby corruping the save game. I thought this might have been because of old video drivers, so I downloaded new drivers for my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB. After this driver update, the problem has changed a bit. The game now occasionally crashes at the end of a turn. I use a Athlon AMD 64 machine with Windows XP Pro SP2 (Dutch version), said video card, DirectX9.0C, 1024MB RA
It would seem so. Our temporary serials only give access to the BonusPack. Whatever... the game is a blast
Im doing the campaign on Normal difficulty... the first (3?) missions were quite easy... but handy to learn the game. The Dread Lord encounters are pure sweetness. The thrill of trying to counter those badass mofos Anyway, research medium hulls, logistics up to 12 or better 16, and fairly advanced weapons (like level 5 plasma) Build heav

This has been mentioned before.... Link Greetz
Glad to help. Remember to keep the General in the vicinity of the transport when giving orders. Won't work otherwise.
They don't want Europeans to get the game on tuesday it seems. grrmmbl Forgive our impatience Stardock. You guys have been working your collective asses of for weeks now and we can't even wait a night. Shame on us.
GalCiv2 is very... precious to me, though I abide the release date with great pain. Haha... great joke. I was surprised by the WETA connection as well.
