I tend to agree. It seems the planets are underutilized by the AI. You'll notice they dont always build a factory on a production bonus tile or a lab on a research bonus tile. AI probably needs a few tweeks. I've been playing with all the AI set to intelligent too.

I'd also like to know if you can change their size, would be cool to see a gigantic red giant that your ships had to "go around", might even be strategic if its large enough.
Watch list is broke too, there are better forum codes out there.. hopefully all will be resolved soon.

At least hide the other civilizations influence zones. I don't think they should hide the stars though, you can see stars from a long way a way in real life ... heck, you can even tell if planets are orbiting them with todays technology.
Is it possible to change the graphical size of stars on the main map? IE make some a lot smaller and some a lot bigger??
yep, same here
I like using custom ships with lots of pieces, the new patch makes it much easier to upgrade so it's the lesser of 2 evils for me. But I see the posters point.
Are you referring to best planet tiles or events? There is a difference. The coolest "event" I've had when colonizing was related to developing a chemical that brought the dead back to life to use as troops in your army, that was too cool. The UNDEAD live!
Yeah, the IRC channel rocks. I picked up a few game tidbits today just by "hanging out".
Once every 2 weeks is fine, gives you a little time to test your code tweeks.. don't want to create more problems than you fix. (looking forward to the ship upgrade fix).
Get the Omega drivers, worked for me and my Radeon 9000. http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Battlestar added...... this is overly addicting... I think I need to check in to a clinic.

Thanks for the comments... now on to the larger hulls! Check out these books for inspiration! http://www.bisbos.com/rocketscience/tta/books.html http://www.bisbos.com/rocketscience/tta/sitemap.html
Problem solved. The Stardock Central installed .008 patch went over my manually updated .007 patch and sent me back to the release version of the game. The issue I was having was the old 1.0 bug. Everything is fine now, wish we could figure out why SDC said it updated my game to .008 when it actually dropped me from .007 to the original release version.
Switched image hosting to dropfiles.net... should be working now
Here are several pics of base ship designs that I made which will show up with any new game. The ship designer is addicting . Sensor ship - Blackbird Constructor - Catepillar <img src="http://img38
Well, I have the latest patch. Anyone from Stardock want to comment??
I've created several custom ships as templates (no engines/weapons/anything tech related) so I can use the hulls in future games. However, on one of my ships only half the ship "extras" appear. It appears a maximum file size has been exceeded??? The ship file is about 13kb. What's the max the game can handle????
What if you stop trading with a race that you sent trade goods too? Do they lose the bonuses they were getting?
Any of the function keys should be able to close the notification/status window at the beginning of your turn not just the escape key. I use a 5 button mouse where I have 2 of the buttons programmed to F2 and F5 and would like to go to those screens right away after I read the turn briefing without having to close the brief and then hit a button (I do not want to program an extra button for ESC, thats a waste)
