Tudjy plays on the hardest levels only as far as I see in his posts (that are usually very good) The monsters are more aggressive on higher levels (especially against cities). They also prefer player cities sligthly to AI cities on higher levels so says the frog. I must say that I rarely have these problems myself (on Hard).

Things that reduce ICS (a bit) The pioneers have a production cost (blocking the que a bit) The monsters will come for you (on higher difficulty levels where you should be :) ) You have to find places to settle, and that is no easy chore at the moment You will have to guard those pioneers while they move instead of attacking and getting exp on your units Population growth is divided on all your cities slowing down their growth if you have

2012 for me Fallen Enchantress - 86/100 Warlock: Master of the Arcane 84/100 (its good at what it does, but its not as deep as FE) XCOM - 80/100 (there is not enough randomness or variation, so you can find optimal strategies fast - a real "sandbox" mode and it could have been 95/100) Tropico 4 84/100 (great little gem) Endless Space 70/100 (bland, missing personality) Unreleased: Kings Bounty: Warriors of t

People were complaining in the beta about cities being sacked by monsters. It is more likely to happen on higher difficulty levels (so it does happen). I would like the monsters to be more aggressive, but when I play on challenging its pretty tough anyhow :)

Yeah, I am waiting for some lets play 1.0 films from the Das and the Sean :d I am also very happy with this game, but I have a suspicion that its to clever for many reviewers. They will be whining about accessibility and stuff, just because its not like XCOM in its simplicity. Lets hope I am wrong. And remember to spread the word ppl. Tell your friends about this!!!

Recent games that I have played: CIV IV (getting a bit old now, but still the yardstick) Warlock: Master of the Arcane - Very good, but a bit simpler than many 4x games Tropico 4 - Very good game. Wished I had more time to play it. Will go back some day Endless Space - OK, but didnt quite grip me. Skyrim - Not 4x, but it was good. Kings Bounty series - next one coming out next week. This series gets far less credit than it deserves. GREAT

You are writing in rage, but you have valid points. The replayability of the game is a bit limited. Lets hope there will be patching and addons. This is important for strategy gaming. The world needs to see that there are plenty of gamers who will pay for AAA strategy games. I still love XCOM, but I will go back to FE pretty soon. Both games are good, but FE will give joy 10 times longer than XCOM.

I think the militia should have the second best equipment you have researched. Weapons and armour. As it is now, some small gang of shrills that I dont notice, can take a huge city. Has happened to me several times. We dont have time (or the budget for upkeep) to produce defenders everywhere. To change that would entail rebalancing the game. Just give us some slightly better militia and not only in fortresses.
