I had the first one, but lost it without ever being able to play it. It appears I'm having some luck with 2 judging by the cool medals it keeps giving me in the Metaverse though. Don't ask how I can use the lowest diffculty to figure things out and break the top 25, because this, I do not know, and do not wish to know.
I can't see mine either and I only have one metaverse character, shouldn't it auto-magically default to that? Edit: Oh ho, I couldn't see the 'Default' button, was too dark.
I personally like it the way it is. As far as the value of things, it should be kind of obvious that techs higher up the tree than other techs are worth much more, etc etc. Try trading Laser III for Plasma Weapons. It'll be red. I think I figured out infulence SB's by accident, I built one by clicking the wrong option when I meant to click on Military. I left it there just to see what it would do (I had no intention of doing things the way it turned out). The AI planet near it flipped to me about 10 turns later and I went out and built seven more and added influence modules to each. 30 or 35 turns later a cinematic starts and I'd won a cultural victory. <img src="http://ima
Beat EaW, both campaigns, on Hard difficulty, on the first try. All too easy.
Downloaded the game (fantastic, btw), archived it (really easy), burned it to a DVD (since I archived everything and had more blank DVD's than CD's) and now I have a boring looking DVD with GalCiv2 written on it in black Sharpie. How about a downloadable printable CD label? Would be keen for those of us that enjoy having those.
