I just finished watching the new version of The Andromeda Strain (It has already aired on UK TV). How was it? so bad that I have come here to warn others not to waste 4 hours of their life on it. Its both bad TV and bad Sci-fi, and it barely counts as being based on The Andromeda Strain, Here is pretty much how i imagine the plot discussion went "You know what, this isn't cheesey and cliched enough, what can we do to make it better?" "How about time tra

I think one topic that has not got the emphasis it deserves has been AI, unless we can do something about teaching and changing the AI then we are very limited in what we can successfully do (Singleplayer would almost certainly be a no-go for most of the major mods). Though as no one has done so yet I shall link "The Modders Wishlist" thread, as that seemed to cover much of what Modders want and in a more concise manner [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/307609/page/1
You are probably taking it that too literaly the exact line (line 14 i shall note) is baseMaxNumFighters 6 so what you have just without the space
No as to my understanding its not like Savage, mainly in that all the troops are computer-controlled or directly controled by you, rather than individual players.
It's in the squad files decayWithoutOwnerRate 0.010000 Though i will admit to having no idea what that translates to in-game. I would assume that it's a percentage per second
Repair station ranges are set in the individual ability files (note ability files not buff files) and you need BuffHyperspaceDisruptionSpawner.entity for disruption modules ranges
No, Pirates can't jump between stars.
Maybe the 512 mb ram on Vista was the reason
Almost certainly, I'm amazed Anything ran with 512 on Vista, including Vista itself
That's a bummer. I love RoL--it's the reason I'm putting off buying GCII:ToA. I wonder if the computer issues are the reason it got shafted by the gaming magazines' ratings.
No, the reasons it did poorly overall, was firstly the campaign and story were god-awful and actually a step back from the RoN campaign, the cuotl were grotesquely unbalanced, and the main one was major multiplayer issues which prevented it from 'getting off the ground' so to speak, but even then most
The game Twelvefield is likely thinking of is one of the Earth 21XX series games, because TA definitely doesn't allow you to design units in game *still plays it*
Wait, Terraziel, you played Disciples III and Majesty 2? Can I use your time machine when you're done with it?!
you missed dawn of war 2, and C&C red alert 3. Its what I get for not paying enough attention to the lists of sequels. Though as an aside i have to say this list has made me wonder what peoples lists are like for other genres as well, because i could probably get a list like that for most genres (except sports games, the last sport ga
You don't Have to have used ConvertData to create a functional mod, if the game is crashing (assuming you have all the files in the right place) then that means you've, to put it bluntly, screwed up whatever you were modding, however without knowing any specifics of what you are trying to do we cant really help.
You need to download the 1.04 reference data from the Downloads section, that contains the text versions of all the entity files.
try just using the "ApplyBuffToSelf" instantaction type, its the simplest way of doing it. but its hard to say whether that would fix the problem without being able to see the rest of your ability\buff files
My favourite? The Tone Rebellion, still playing it after a decade, there is just nothing like it in both gameplay and art direction, and I'm not sure there should be. Other games of note: Civilisation 4 (Plus expansions) Company Of Heroes Imperium Galactica 2 EDIT: ah, Deuteros, I remember that, God it seemed so complicated at the time.
Well my first impressions of the beta are pretty low, the gameplay seems shallow and uninvolved, but how much of that is due to the terrible interface I have yet to determin, but currently there is nothing that draws you into the game. Plus who ever thought that freaking instant messaging was a good way of telling you the story needs his head examined, Especially as they kept in the freaking "you have a message" Bleep noise, I turned those off in real life because they annoyed me.
Might i ask, from a modders perspective, how you accomplished this? From the sounds of it (no, i havent downloaded it) you use the research to unlock an ability on the scout ship which applies the IsPhaseGateEndPoint modifier to planets it passes, presumably by a passive aura?
Taken from the strategy games list on wikipedia and filtered (so I may have missed a couple that I personally wouldnt count as strategy games), and yes i have played them all, rather depressingly. Act of War: Direct Action Act of War: High Treason Age of Empires Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Age of Empires III Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties Age of Empires III: The War Chiefs Age of Empires: The Rise
And at last, I've found the weapon dummy's limit, It's max 10 weapon dummy for each weapon type, also weapon type max is 3, so we have Maximus 30 weapon dummy for each ship.
Are you sure about this? My own (still continuing) experiments seem to indicate that it is more likely a cap on the max number of dummy points overall. e.g I have a model with 8 weapon-0 and 16 weapon-1 points, and (when working) 6 exhaust points, but when I increase the number of exhaust points it cr
I'm sorry, I intend on staying out of this but....
Palestine does not currently exist as soveriegn nation (because they won't stop blowing themselves up long enough to negotiate)so there can technically be no occupation of a Nation that does not exist
No, Palestine doesnt exist as a sovereign nation because We (the British and the Americans) were and still are complicit in the destruction of it and its people. Secondly you realise this arguement means th
I'm sorry, but i feel the need to point these things out...
Mechwarrior was a real stinker too. I could never understand why anyone would want to use complicated game controls to fire lasers from a giant robot.
The good ones werent published by microsoft, only 3+4 were and 3 was Terrible.
Oh, yeah, and there's that one game with the Master Chief...
same here Halo was and is a Terrible game, and a shadow of what it could and should
For the record, as it stands what you want to do is impossible, you cant have strikecraft and weapons on the same planetmodule, not done properly atleast (you would have to make one or the other an ability). That said feel free to theorise all you want as hopefully we will be able to bypass that limitation at a later date.
Hanger point is also wrong...Fighters came from Universe instead inside the ship.
This is what happens when they don't have a spawn point assigned, so you must be linking the points to the model incorrectly somehow. Also, and don't take me as being impolite, but the game engine is very very picky, its "Hangar" not "Hanger"
And the point 'Aura' is what? I don't know it's fuction, anyone tell me?
Its basically just another attach point for g
Ok, firstly before I post my thoughts, some disclaimers firstly, I live in the UK so this debate doesnt directly effect me, secondly by and large, I'm a skeptic both of religion and of science. Now that said, this debate has always been one that fascinated me, not the topic of the debate, but the debate itself, because it is largely argued by people with very little grasp of the topics at hand, at best on this planet a tiny fraction of the percent of the population actually understand e
