**Remember to allow multiple players for each battlefield as seen within AgeofWonders:ShadowMagic.**
Seconded. This is a must have feature. Joint attacks from multiple directions..hell yeah! :D [Btw this system was used in many KOEI strategy games as well. :)]
Quoting red1939, reply 2 Call me a blashpemer but I never liked AoW. While I admired the art direction, the overall feel of the game and interesting magic system, but I deeply despised the combat feel and it's mechanics. My 0.02€ (don't hate me ). I don't know if it will replace AoW for you, but I've a strong feeling that you might like this game - even if only to some small degree. The second question is

The battles are weird....if 2 big armies clash, the soldiers won't find their way to reach the enemy units..it's hillarious to watch. :D Also...the battle & tactical [overland army management & positioning of the armies] AI is weak imo, and the ranged units are way too powerful as it is now. The economy part of the game is weak also. Everything else is decent. So....if I must rate this game: 70/100.
Frogboy, you need to check out that new game "King Arthur: The Role-Playing Wargame" for inspiration. They did indeed make what I'd call "Magic: Total War". I also think they stole some idea's from Elemental and were just lucky beating you to release. The battle engine for the game, in appearance, is what I would call "Magic: Total War". In it's use and implementation though it's not quite as deep as a Total War game, but it's close. It has fantasy
And we're huge Bioware fans here, so we'd be making a 3rd person view RPG.
Yeah those RPGs are the best [Like ToEE or Dragon Age]...I don't like the first person view RPGs to be honest.

I like the idea of mercenaries! This was a neat little feature in some fantasy strategy titles. [Including MoM IIRC] :)

I cannot complete a game at all in Elemental right now, because of the caravan related crash, what I've reported before. I mean how will the equipments [various armors & weapons] fit on the very different creature models? Like if someone creates a creature [..as a basic civ unit], which has 2 heads, 4 arms and a huge body for example? which is exactly why I suggeste

Like I said I assume so, but I find your comment odd.
It is not, that is true. However right now, combat is heavily RNG based, because of the very few "stats". [ATT/DEF] This is why I said, that I have my hopes up...and SD will create a decent -not RNG based- tactical-combat s
