An interesting idea certainly. While it would probably create somewhat "faceless" heroes, I suppose that would still be neater than just having a unit with Elite experience. Then again, I do like my companies of elite knights as well. This is, of course, assuming that normal heroes are like those in MOM, where they have a feeling of personality and uniqueness to them. Despite having no backround or such, a simple name and a portrait brings a huge amount of joy and a feeling that they indeed a

Agreed. I know some people hate events for some unfathomable idea, so I guess it would be wise to do it like in Galciv2, where events are optional. That'd make everyone happy, I suspect. Personally I love events, especially big ones. They're a test to my player skill, to see whether I can adapt to the situation and still conquer myself, and they create great immersion as well.
Well, obviously I'm not from Stardock, but my take on the Random item idea is that it's a very poor one. It pretty much does the opposite of what you want it to. The items become less unique and more generic, and personally I find that hateful. Take MOM for example, all the items were unique and it was great to see the different items in the game, they had a feeling of history to them, even though they only had names. If you have generic names like "King's sword of haste" then it becomes too
I for one completely agree with Draginol's behaviour. That is indeed how a CEO should act, not how he shouldn't. I detest the current business practice of lies and treachery, which seems to pervade the world. I'd much prefer if people actually did as they thought and didn't lie about whatever happens in their company, to the constant bullshitting that is the norm. If people don't buy from you because of that, that's only good, because that means they won't regret the purchase anyway. If they did
I think the pirates are a really great addition to the game. My only problem is that they're so weak. They appear with a fleet of 40 ships, but get decimated in seconds by my forces, yet their bounty on me is 15,000. Not much of a challenge. I'd love it if the pirates were more powerful, having their own capital ships and all. Sure, a button to switch the pirates off from the random maps might be good if you want to please some of the people here. But then again, it's the game the developers wan
Of course evil choices are supposed to be much more powerful than good ones, it's not only realistic, it's good from other views as well. I hate it when being good is rewarded while being evil is punished, because you don't do good things so that you can get a reward, you do them because they're right. Take an example from any RPG. You help a sickly farmer and ask for no reward, but he gives you an artifact weapon which he got from his grandfather. You also get 3 times the EXP the evil choice wo
It's ridicilously slow to research any of the late-game weapons. You could easily win the game with a tech victory rather than getting a doom ray. Nanorippers are really easy to get, as are psionic weapons. You get them early, plus they're powerful. You get doomrays only if: a) You have set the tech speed to superduperfast. b) You want to prolong the game intentionally. You don't get them in a normal game. They're a weapon that's
