At the point where players are stacking multiple attack speed and damage artifacts and landing crits on a regular basis, no. No amount of tanking is likely to save you. Up until that point, barriers, healing, and damage soaking are good ways to ensure that the game doesn't last that long. There's a lot to be said for being damn near invincible in the early-game. Most games really shouldn't be lasting long enough for people to be stacking Ashkandors and such if the pl
lol *facepalm*
Yes, and as I highlighted in another thread on a similar subject, the concern was regarding Pantheon where there are only 4 choices per team.
Losing because you upgraded creep spawns blows my mind.
Yeah... to me, it says something's wrong that I smile every time I hear that the opponent's "Priests have joined the battle." Especially if I'm playing the QoT or Torch Bearer. They're attacking me with cash and better exp? Oh no!
The difference between getting a triple fireball over a snipe/fireball/penitence combo is that there is a higher chance that a DG on you side can counter the snipe, fireball or penitence.
... They're 3 forms of direct damage. What's to 'counter'? How are you handling the damage from Fireball differently than the damage from Penitence? Everyone has access to potions and everyone is able to avoid walking into a gang-beating situation.
How would 5v5 work with only 8 DG? AGAIN????? 1 per TEAM, read again: T E A M
I think the concern regards how this would work in Pantheon since there are only 4 choices per team (the same concern I expressed in a similar thread yesterday) but I suppose that's another issue. It's hard for me to get worked up about this because (*edit, as the first reply already said) the examples of same-DG abuse always seem to be offer

As I recall, the issue was an entire team of Reg's using Snipe in tandem. Not snipe, itself. Let's not start whipping out 1-to-1 comparisons to other nukes, especially Fireball. They all have their perks and Fireball has quite a few.

What else do you want? The next step is refund. If you'd prefer not to go that route, then is there anything else we can help you with?

*shrug* Despite all the complaints on these forums, I've been playing it without incident on GameRanger all month. My friends and I are having a great time. Sucks for the folks who really want to get into Pantheon I suppose but yeah, I'd buy an expansion.

I bought a retail copy at release. A day before release to be precise. Thanks, Target. No coupons yet. Most of my friends are already playing it with me on GameRanger, however, (and yes, with legitimate copies) so it'd be a little redundant at this point.
More of this "if SD did it then it must have been justified!" mentality.
Well, to be fair, generally when these sorts of stories (especially when they're as vague as the OP was) hit public, there tends to be quite a few details that get conveniently left out. Things like the profanity-laced shouting match with customer service and other delights. If this ban really was the result of that 'one' comment though, that is pretty lame (for lack of

Same reason that Stardock reps have been eating so many babies lately, I imagine. I'm not going to post any evidence of those babies being eaten, of course but rest assured, many an infant has been devoured.
The net result would mean more people getting to enjoy the game they are in.
On paper, what works for the greater good sounds perfectly reasonable but as was said before, whoever happens to be the lucky draw that gets kicked from a game is more than likely going to be a little annoyed, especially if they were doing well and 'especially' if they were playing with friends or other people that they now have to wait on to get another game going.
This (or a variation such as giving only 10% of the gold) is suggested in about every thread like this, but still most people seem to insist that kicking the DG wholly out is a better choice. It's hard to say what would really make for a 'balanced' match between the arbitrary mechanics being described in this thread but

Points one and two of the OP, I figure, should be a given. I'm still surprised that those even need to be discussed. I'm not a big fan of the random dropping of a player from the other team, though. Yes, it evens things up but I don't see the merit in punishing someone from the team who decided to stick it out. If there's a statistical way to balance the scales as IV suggests, I'd much prefer that. That's for custom games, though. In a truly compet

Here again, I think people are getting way too caught up in swatting at symptoms (i.e. banning rage-quitters) rather than addressing the actual problems - game mechanics that encourage rage-quitting, AI players that feed the oppon
