not enough video memory maybe? you really should post your debug.err
phbbt107
you can't move starbases. PERIOD. unless someone mods them or something.
hmm do you think a debug.err is needed? to see if it actually is a bug or i'm just really lucky?
Someone Stardock employee should put on the Homepage in big bold letters "POST YOUR DEBUG.ERR WHEN YOU HAVE A BUG REPORT!" it would make things oh so much eascier.
Note Stardock Central's description: Use Stardock Central to keep up to date on Galactic Civilizations II and other Stardock software. Also gives you access to beta builds. It's only for beta builds. You'll be able to get 1.1 (not 1.1b) on the download page when they're done with it.
umm, you can only buy one planetary improvement AND one ship thing PER planet PER turn. That might be why.
So, with all this beta business going on, i'm wondering if we can revert to an older build without uninstalling. So if we CTD or something, we can post our debug.err, revert to the previous build and get on with our playing.
eh, i'd rather drop the armor/shield/emc and get engines and sensors so i can get first strike.
eh, maybe. But you better make the planetary bombardment weapon/item/module/whatever very big and expensive. Being able to blow the !@#$ out of a planet without losing your ship OR and population seems very powerful to me.
this may seem trolly, but PLEASE read the manual and/or use the search under the recent posts box. i see like 5 of these everyday.
you know what would be great? a way to customize the diffculty. EG: sub-normal too easy, but normal too hard? give the ai and extra 25% econ or give him basic algos. It would reduce teh frustration level so much and it'd help us go up at out own pace.
OK, what i meant was, all the ai players would choose teh same kind of weapons. EG Everyone uses lasers, or everyone uses Mass drivers, etc.) I was also playign with tech trade on.
i find trade incredibly useless. i play small maps wit habundant planets, and usually trade routes only give me 5-6 bc a turn . It's not much when i get 1000+ from taxes. Am i just playing badly? I keep reading posts about how trade is amazing, but it just seems overrated to me. And the 5-6 bc per turn is for pretty big planets, 10+billion.
if you're having problem enonomically, put points into morale and economy. More morale = higehr taxes. I was able to run at 100% with 60% tax and still keep my approval in the mid-80s (i had 20% morale ability and 1 morale resource). You should also try to tech to stock market early on (but not too early) they give amazing bonuses to economy, morale AND influence. Hoever, they're prtty expenisve, so don't be to eager or it'll take you foreve
so why bother having a radius for resource basess? unless you get an extra bonus.
that (-) for only 1 hit point shoudl be more like 5 (-)s. Why? cause that super 250 bc cargo warship is gonna be the first to die in a fight. By the time you actually get strong enough weapons for a one hit kills, you might as well just use medium or large hulls.
nope, it's not too hard though. Upgard the constructors with a couple of engines and you dedicated production world will still crank 'em out in a turn or two.
i'm pretty sure that's only if you entered your serial during or after installation. So if you didn't enter it before you threw it out, you're horribly unlucky. If it doesn't work i suppose you could try emailing stardock and hope they'll send you one with a proof of purchase or something.
are there any precurso ships besides rangers and corvettes? Cause i would love to get a Huge size precuror ship *drools on the keyboard*
Perhaps stardock should add a in between difficulty, between beginner and normal. EG: 75% econ, but no higher level algorithms or 50% econ with higher level algorithms. It's help noobies (like me) get used to the AI being smarter, or the AI being richer without getting overwhelmed.
I've played a couple games and it seems (For the most part) that all the AI players will choose the same weapon tech to research. Is it jus tbecause they trade techs with each other? Or is it some kind of AI bug. This gives the human player a huge advantage, as they can research a different weapon line, forcing the AI to research two different types of defense while the Human player only has t oresearch one. THen again, i'm playign on sub-normal so tha
a debug.err would help too. IF there is one since yopur game didn't start.
ehh, i saw pirates and they were pushovers (probably cuase i had HUGE ships with 200+ beam attack) And no, i wasn't cheating. I just set tech speed to very fast.
make sure yopu have the latest cpu driver (check the sticky on the main forum page). If you're gettign stuck at loading, try reducing the number of opponents, reducign galaxy size, and turning off random civs. THat should speed up loading.
They're not breaking any laws. IF you don't like the mods, don't play with them. It's pretty simple.
