kryo, I uninstalled the game and removed the beta serial from Impulse so I'd have a clean install next week. Impulse won't let me re-enter the key now, but will it on Monday? Thanks! -HM
Hollow Man
I uninstalled Demigod and removed the registration so I can start with a clean slate next week. Will I get a new key to add, or will I simply have to re-add my current one? Right now, if I try to add the current one, I get a message saying it's invalid and nothing gets added. And Demigod no longer shows up with my other registation keys here under My Account - Registrations. Thanks for the hard work during the beta, -HM
Alas, not a big fan of the art on the CE. It's just so...dark. And overly stylized. Ah well. And I know, I know, if this is the worst of my complaints, I don't have a lot to complain about! -HM
Absolutely. Always the case with Stardock published stuff. Just put the serial number that came with the box version into Impulse and download away. -HM
We both have legal versions of Windows. Like I said, we've gotten it to work before. It just...stoppped. And hasn't worked since. The erratic behavior is stumping me. -HM
I was able to play 2 or 3 games just fine with a friend two days ago, but then we got the infinite "connecting" screen, and couldn't play anymore. Tried again yesterday and still couldn't get it to work. But at times others have been able to jump in to a game that I'm hosting (but he can't). We always restart to ensure the port it tries is 6073 rather than zero. Perplexing since at one time it DID work, and nothing on our end has changed. Any ideas? I'd really like t
Yeah, I just updated Demigod but couldn't log in when it was done. Then I went and tried Impulse, and that couldn't login either. So looks like it's a Stardock issue. -HM
What happens when you try to run it from its icon under the Start menu? -HM
Did you get an error message? I got one referencing DirectX, but it's really a monitor refresh issue. Once I set my monitor to 60 Hz for 1024x768 (the resolution it starts in once an update is done), then it's fine. Afterwards, I can hack the config file to make it take higher rates. I mentioned this when I downloaded the first beta, but apparently it hasn't been fixed yet. I hope they fix this for release, but I'm not too hopeful, since Suprememe Commander has
The game starts itself at 1024x768 by 60 hz. So if your monitor is not set to accept that resolution and refresh, when you try to run the game immediately after install, it will crash. With reforce.exe I have 1024x768 forced to 85. Once I bumped it down to 60, then the game would start. Once the game started, then I could easily see within the game the other specific resolutions and refresh rates set up via reforce.exe. I could then change to my desired 1280x960x
I had a crash from the get-go: I believe it was the "unable to start Direct3D" one. I use Refreshforce to push my CRT to a refresh rate of 85 hz in games. Once I set this to back to 60 hz at 1024x768 the game started fine. Once in game, I could choose my desired rate of 1280x960x85 hz, and the game continued to work. If I recall I had a similar problem when I first ran Suprememe Commander. I was able to circumvent the issue by running that in safe mode, then ch
Poor [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toby_Radloff"]Toby[/link] (first pic). There are good people and bad people in this classification. The bad ones are the sort who long ago realized they couldn't fit into normal society, so they talk loudly all the time about things few care about (to grab attention) and don't give a damn that they're annoying. The good ones are able to function positively in society, use their skills to make good cash, and make Star Wars figure collecting cool
Thanks for the disc. Now we just need some Amaray DVD keepcase cover art. :) -HM
Bruce, Take a photo of your Dark Avatar retail box and post it here, because I'm sure all of us, including Brad, would love to see it. The only way you could get Dark Avatar standalone was through Stardock directly (no retail store carried it), and it came in a paper sleeve. The only boxed version of Dark Avatar is in GalCiv2 Gold, which includes GalCiv2 Dread Lords and Dark Avatar. This is the only way you could get Dark Avatar in a store. As I said, standalone you could on
Ironclad plans to put a campaign in the expansion. -HM
A few of us have issues getting 1.04 saves to work. Probably not completely compatible. -HM
I'm not aware of any, but you never know, thus my disclaimer type wording. :) And I believe someone around here figured out a workaround to at least get the other campaigns running within Twilight. If you poke around the forums a bit, you'll find the thread. -HM
What you've stated is accurate. Currently you cannot play the old campaigns via Twilight. And the graphics have not been updated for the earlier games. -HM
Above in my first sentence I meant to say "LAN play only". But Kryo beat me to the punch. Forums seem a bit slow to update today. -HM
The Multiplayer button in the game takes you to LAN play online. You need to click the Ironclad Online button, then create an acocunt for it, to play over the Internet. The CD Key it asks for will be the serial number that was sent to you via email when you ordered the game. If you do not have it, you can retrieve your serial number(s) [link="https://www.stardock.com/support/"]here[/link]. The serial number also gives you the ability to download the patches, which you will ne
Annatar, thank you for the back up. Viewpoint, I'm glad that your game now works. I'm sorry that you were annoyed and perhaps misinterpreted my intentions by what I said, but I believe Annatar summarized my feelings pretty well. Perhaps as time goes on, you're learn that it's not a sign of weakness to apologize when at fault. This was a case where this was not an Ironclad problem, yet, you mistakenly assumed it was their online system that was the issue (and bashed them 'round a bit
Nope not working with my 1.04 saved game (I guess quote words "should work" applies to me lol).
Same here; my 1.04 save won't work. Ah well. -HM
Start - All Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt -HM
And kryo!
Ah, but he works for Stardock. It pays for him to be nice. :) -HM
I can understand if you're frustrated, and I am sorry about that. But if you would like help from others (remember, most people who post here are just game players like you, and not affiliated with Stardock or Ironclad), yelling about it won't help much. After all, I don't personally have much to lose if your game doesn't work, and I get more satisfaction from helping people that are even tempered. I have to help enough people daily at my office who aren't nice, but at least I'm getting paid
