To be honest I'm starting to wonder more and more about how food is going to be generated now that caravans won't produce them. Are we going to have buildable farms in cities again?
I don't really see it, but I'll take it as a no. So forget fancy statues, and: http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/1099/elemental1286397501.jpg Hopefully you won't find anything suggestive there, lol. Oh, and I think you might have gone a little overboard on the darkelf t
Not too sure about my rock work, I was trying for an "Atlas" thing, but eh... http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/5560/elemental1286383463.jpg
No no, I didn't mean it as a hut, I thought I'd use that as a trade center instead of that other design.
They can't give discounts because of retail problems. Basically, they would get in trouble for underselling. That's why they give out free expansion.
Redoing the other building was getting old, so I decided to retouch the concept for the hut instead... http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/1824/elemental1286381248.jpg Thoughts?
John, I think your oasis is too small. The resources are all 2x2. Edit: Crystal, I can't reduce the size of the brick roof because it's there to hide the mess of roofs from the cluster of buildings underneath XD
I'm not sure if you guys are changing anything else, but with the existing mechanic, outposts can pump out the next to highest squad size (8 or 9 guys). While it doesn't have the same power as a 12 size company, when multiple outposts are pumping them out, it's very hard to compete against with just one build queue unless you abuse stacking training time to build everything in one turn (I consider this a bug though). This is ESPECIALLY true for empire outposts, which can build 2 training buil
I'd say if you're building a rig for this game only: Go with a 32bit system, 3gigs of RAM (2 for the game, and spare for the OS), and any half decent modern Gfx card. That should run the game well. There's no magical fix for OOM problems, so getting any more isn't going to help.
I can't increase the roof anymore or the building underneath would start to poke through the bottom buildings. If I move the buildings out, I have to increase the stone roof, which defeats the purpose I think. As for the hedges, it looks a bit odd on top, I'm not sure how else to explain it. This if probably the best of the hedges look, although now I'm not sure it looks anything like a trade center anymore, lol: <img src=" http://img716.i
So wait, all you want is a cosmetic difference? I thought the whole point of having them be different would be for them to actually play different as well... ... I mean, what's the point of cosmetic differences when you spend most of the game on the cloth map? @_@
The problem with vastly differing race/factions is balancing them would be very hard. When starcraft came out with 3 different races it was quite a feat, and many have tried (not so successfully) to top that. Balancing 10 vastly different races is just virtually impossible. That's why they only have 2 sides with some minor differences (which are easier to balance) between the factions on each side in the main game. Even then, I'm sure you've seen the comments regarding how one side is stronge
Yeah, I wanted a green roof to match the other buildings... but the square roof looks a bit off too, heh. ... hmm, how about this? http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/9971/elemental1286308025.jpg
Okay, gonna need some help picking which one I should finish up here, 'cause now I have 4 versions... lol: http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4555/elemental1286306343.jpg Right now I'm about to abandon the top most one with the all green and dome roof, and favoring the bottom on
No it doesn't, all you have to do is give players 1000 G to start instead of 100. Have them manage that as they start in the red on their economy, it's exactly how GC2 does it.
In my mind, there's only two real solution to the problem: 1) Incremental maintenance (city cost x-1 of a certain resource -usually gold- to maintain). So as you build more cities, you get increasingly harsh maintenance. This forces you to develop less cities to keep maintenance at a manageable level, and you'll only take on new cities if you know you can offset the cost. Basically, the CIV way. 2) Development maintenance/bonus, aka the GC2 Model,
Playing around with designs for last few buildings: http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/7945/elemental1286299358.jpg I suppose it could be a trade center or something...

Doesn't really matter to me, you could even just leave it as is for completion sake if you want, lol. Also: http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4778/elemental1286221424.jpg Is that building enough for a war college? Or did I go way overboard...
There's a problem in the 1.09 patch that make the crystal trigger un-triggerable. They know about it and it's already been fixed. You just have to wait until the patch comes out.
Yeah, sounds like a small fix for some problems in 1.09, so it'll just be a 1.09.xx to fix those. Don't expect huge changes.
