I'm pretty sure they are going to add at least one new hull set (for the new evil race), so I guess you can always hope that they will also allow you to add your own custom sets into the game while they are redoing the code/interface for it.

I have been wondering this since Dark Avatar was announced, but since you mentioned that you're going to be going over the Dreadlords and Dark Avatar campaign next week, I wanted to ask if there are new options for the scenarios/campaign missions in plan for Dark Avatar... For example: - Will we have the option to define custom planets (complete with facilities, bonuses, and terraforming status) in a scenario? Basically it would read in the planet like the load game function does (fro
Put your picture inside the folder, and then mod the "planetary improvement.xml" so that the facility in question point to your picture instead of the old ones. Then toss that modded xml file into a mod folder and choose to use it.
huh... I guess I should have said... "if you STILL can't figure out the pattern, then you shouldn't be modding..." but w/e run around calling everyone an obnoxious troll if you want to.
er.... I have no idea what you're asking... but this is what I'm suggesting you do if you want more than 4 options: {Ability Name="Economics 1"} {AbilityIndex}0{/AbilityIndex} {AvailableOptions}4{/AvailableOptions} {Option0Text}Advanced{/Option0Text} {Option0Bonus}10{/Option0Bonus} {Option0Cost}2{/Option0Cost} {Option1Text}Gifted{/Option1Text} {Option1Bonus}20{/Option1Bonus} {Option1Cost}3{/Option1Cost} {Option2Text}Maste
That's correct, there's only room for 4 abilities at the minimum resolution (at least in the way that the screen is currently designed). If you want a simple solution... just add another one. Make the old one "Economics 1" and add a new "Economics 2". Suddenly you have 8 choices. Of course you could choose two, so you might want to make your choices fair. Then again, you'll be the only one using it. If you have a problem, look at the logistic and miniturization guide.

Oh, and don't forget, every lunar eclipse it should go from bottom up instead.
I had a pirate fleet showed up with some 400+ attack in all 3 areas. I was like whoa... finally time to pull out my blackhole erruptors (I was just cleaning up the end game at this point). The turn afterwards they dove into my fully fortified military base and all died. Damn it, so close to a challenge.
Theoretically, if you have enough heat shielding (to survive) and a strong enough anti-gravitational field, breaking up a star should be possible, since the nuclear fussion process in the star is sustained by its mass. Of course we're talking about millions of kelvin and an anti-gravitational field that can negate million times that of earth's gravity. Keeping in mind that these figures are just OUR star, which is just a tiny little dot in comparison to most. Yet this ridiculous methodology is p
Yeah, this happens a lot, sometimes one of the custom planets in a custom star is missing, and as a result you will see the debug message "fail to place planet". I believe it has to do with all the planets has to be in the same sector, and the normal positioning of that last planet would have put it out of the sector. However, I must admit, this is the first time I've seen a situation where the UP picks this planet. It's definitely a bug with the UP, which, hopefully will be looked in
Also keep your population under control. Don't build more than 2 farms per planet unless you know what you're doing. Yes, that means avoiding the +300% food tile like the plague. If all else fails, morale resources are your friends (right next to the economic, military and influence ones).
w00t, kanji! I'm prepared! In anycase, I've never had to retype my serial since the time I first registered the game, and I must have installed what 6-7 patches? Maybe you should start using the GC2 launcher, update your serial there, and then update the game through SDCentral like I do.
I believe you were told to restart after the patch (it did for me anyways). Try it, it should fix your problem.
As I have mentioned elsewhere before, If you up the AI's priority on sensor tech (to about 15), and then make all sensor tech give +2 sensor range, the game is significantly more enjoyable. An AI that is able to detect your ships is a much more worthwhile opponent, because they don't make so many mistakes. FYI: In that same mod, I also changed Eyes of the Universe into an espionage bonus (it's too powerful before, and useless if everyone gets +8 anyways), and combined all the starbase
IMO, the whole reason this topic is so popular is because people love GC2, and they want more of it (afterall, the real multiplayer fanatic would have never bought the game or come here to complain in the first place). It's only natural to want more features from a game you like, and these people just wants to play the game with their friends. I have no problems with that, and if Stardock releases an addon with PBEM, LAN, TCP-IP, and Hot-seat game mode
Right now the only way to do it is to bribe another AI into declaring war with them, and then don't help them.
The only way to stop the size up is to remove the sizemod tags for all the components.
It should probably be 120 cost, and 25% from the pattern (but it has been 24% since forever). I bet the people at Stardock are like me, they probably skipped banking center by researching a factory tech before hand, and then went with banking and stock exchange back-to-back, so you basically end up upgrading all your trade centers directly into stock exchanges (the time it takes to upgrade all the factories should be enough to research to stock exchang
You can edit the files and give yourself 200 creativity, then play the game to see its effects. That should be more than enough to see anything out of the ordinary. However, I will bet that you will notice absolutely no difference. The only theory that might have any credit is the ability to steal (or capture) technology, but if that was the case, I don't think it would be called creativity.
If there are no modules on the ISB (Influence Starbases), they are using them as range extenders. With no further information, I can only say that they built those ISB first to extend their range so that they can build their trade route. Once that happened, they went back and laid down ESB (Economic Starbases) on those routes to make money. This would certainly explain the behavior that you are seeing. There's no point in declaring war with them unless their influence starts to overwh
I'd buy a ship pack assuming it will have new hulls for the races, new starbase graphics, and lots of jewelry. But to be honest, I'm a pretty decent modeler myself and can do that if I really wanted to. Instead, what I really want is new options on how to use those graphics. Things like reworking the shipyard so that you can quickly select the modules that you want (too much scrolling right now), methods for making all races unique graphically, and working animated jewelry. If that was in, and y
The '+' and '-' keys zooms the map. In this case, the manual is actually correct...
If it really bothers you that much, all the text in the game are moddable, go fix it. If you really want attention for yourself, you can post your fix for everyone else to use. Frankly, I don't see why people complain about this saying that it would be so easy for them to fix it, and yet even though it is just as easy for you to do it, you don't. That's just, what's the word for it? hypocritical.
