For your ship size question, there are two routes. The miniaturization tech line give each hull more points worth of space, allowing more stuff to be crammed onto your ship. The hull size tech line gives access to bigger ship types (medium, large, huge) and some nice passive HP bonuses to increase the damage each ship can take. Miniaturization is found after the Xeno Research tech. Hull size branches off the logistics techs.

To my knowledge the colors are the same, but they can easily be changed by the player during game start. If you don't like the color the Korx are, for example, start a game as the Korx, making sure to change their color scheme when given the opportunity. After you do this, the Korx will display the colors you gave them in subsequent games. Repeat as necessary for other races.
Can ships be designed to move at only 1 parsec per turn? If so, you could design a specific ship, call it the TS Defender, that would move with the TS to a common destination point. In fact, just one of these in a fleet of other faster ships would keep the fleet from moving too fast.
The Arceans might be able to pull this off, but not anyone else. The passive bonuses on engine techs would mean you's have to forego all engines to pull it off, and that would cripple your e
You can park ships and fleets on top of Terror Stars to defend them.
Would it be possible at this stage to make a terrorstar a waypoint? What I mean is, the waypoint is located on whatever spot the TS happens to be occupying, and moves when it does? Of course, this would also require that the TS moves first of all a player's fleets, so that any ship assigned to pace the TS would immediately move the one space necessary to keep up when the TS is moving. Otherwise having a

IIRC the targetting priority is set by attack/(current HP + defense). Whatever ship has the highest ratio will get hit first, leaving unarmed ships until last. Note that this is apparently no longer true for TA, fleet support modules alter the targetting priorities.

How's this for a balancing idea: instead of 1-99 ethics spectrum, make the spectrum -20k to 20k, with a "good" alignment at 10k, and "evil" at -10k, with neutral at zero, of course. This way, each ethical event can give +/-x to your ethics score, even if you are already completely good or evil. Translating from the existing score, that means Altarians would start at 10k, Korx would start at -10k, and everyone else would start at various points between. Using the new scale would allow th

Try this - wait for a minute or two, just to make sure it's really stuck instead of still processing somebody's move. Then, if it still won't go, click your "find" button the hit the space bar to burn the moves of whatever ship/fleet is highlighted. Repeat as necessary until the turn button comes back. Sometimes this bug is simply one of your ships that gets stuck (conflicting movement instructions or whatever). Doing the above burns the remaining move points on that ship, allowing the
I personally think that Hydrogen fuel cells aren't going to ever be what we as people end up using in our lives. From my understanding, (please correct me if i'm wrong), the same problems that plague electric cars will also bite fuel cell cars because the power has to be stored somewhere. Either you make it on demand, or you put it into either a battery or capacitator. Personally, I think it would be better just to make a straight hydrogen based engine. No batteries or electic motors

That is a problem, but it's not a new one. Happens quite frequently to me running DA 1.80c and has since at least 1.60. Hope it gets fixed but for now, pay attention to the text when you send the constructor. It may look like a bare resource, but the text will say mining starbase ####. Sometimes you can tell if it changes color on the minimap, or causes an influence area.

Basically, there is no defenses for starbases that can take that kind of beating. Don't throw your money away trying to fortify, just accept the loss and move on. So far, no word on new mega events for TA.

The mega pirates event, and the similar but unrelated peacekeepers event, are designed to upset your game. Really, all the mega events should, but these are the most effective. And now, some copy/pasta: ----------------- Basically, you have 5 options, all based on the fact that everyone else is equally disabled. Listed from hardest to easiest 1 - Influence Victory. TA has a tech-editting tool to help modders and custom-race building. You can assemble whatever tech tree you want for a custom race. IIRC the only limitation is that such races will not be metaverse-compatable, simply to limit the level of cheese. Metaverse customs will have to use a premade tech tree.
It's the reason that the research, military, and social sliders are placed under a master slider: by not being able to run everything at 100% all the time; it deliberately forces you to balance difficult management choices. Free research points would bypass and thereby exploit this system. I think the best implementation would be to focus on anomalies, like putting greater chances of getting the "increased our knowledge of this tech by 25%" anomaly. Anomalies are, essentia

It may be an incidental error, like how many races can't build mining bases past the first upgrade or two. The new tech trees may not have the specific techs to allow some buildings/starbase modules/invasion tactics/etc. This is a known issue (don't know about this particular building, but others were known), and must be adressed on a race-by-race basis. Maybe one of the devs will show up and put a more official stamp on this. And the AI most certainly WILL build a Galactic Priva

Nearly impossible, as you can't build influence bases. Crank out embassies on your planets and boost your population as much as possible, and hope planets feel like flipping. 2 - Tech rush. Stop trying to build anything, and research like mad until you can build ships to beat the peacekeepers, then roll over them. While you're at it,

I've read all of those, except The State trilogy - I may have to head to my local bookstore :D *edit* OK, I have read all of them, just never heard them refered to as a trilogy. Also, I just spent two hours and $120 on books online! Darn you, that was Christmas money intended for other people! If you haven't, read The Gripping Hand - it's the sequel to The Mote in God's Eye. Also, Building Halrequin's Moon and The Draco Tavern are excellent. As for the invite,

Has anyone tested to see if there is a transitive property to alliances? I've never tested it, but I'm pretty sure you have to personally have an alliance with each
