you're right of course. Getting online multiplayer in the game and balanced is as simple as adding a button I don't see how the multiplayer minority guys can stand the delays in turn based games like this where turns can take 10s of minutes! Games take long enough single player. I'd never have the patience or lar
Reyals
Humans, ha I got you with my sneak attack of ships with 1 gun but 50 movement bet you didn't see that coming. Computers, fear my ships with one of each type of gun and one of every defense surely they will crush your ships specializing in one area giving 4 time as much power..... But given how long games can take they'd have to create some sort of matching system with a ladder where you submit your turns rather then have to sit do
Actually, the AI does that all the time to me. Just sends in about 3 or 4 transports to capture all my border worlds. Yes... but they try to send them straight there, which happens to be straight through your attacking fleet. It's not smart enough to try to move around your ships. And even if it
I have a fleet of constructs follow around my attack ships. Then when I find their fleet (normally near their home planet) I drop down the military star base do full upgrades to both attack and defense of your ships. Don't bother upgrading the stations weapons it's self as they'll never get close to it if you do it right. Then move in to wipe out their fleet. They don't stand a chance when your fleet of small ships has like 80 offense a
Really though sending unescorted transport is just as dumb as putting ships in a fleet to protect them. Bringing transports into a fight is a bad idea no matter what is protecting them as they're simply a waste of logistics in any fleet they may be in. What the computer should do is send in the fighters first, destroy any fleets it encounters, then bring in the transports once there is nothing left to oppose them.
And your ship still takes 2 weeks to build? Must be quite the beast
What? Do you honestly think the AI is challenging? I have to literally help it just to get a good fight out of it. They don't have to put multiplayer in, but I think it would be a lot easier to do that then try to fix the AI.
The whole diplomacy system is pretty screwed up and easy to abuse. I personaly just avoid the whole thing expect to trade with any allies I have.
I don't know... the AI is pretty bad. Though it's some what difficult to compare since a lot of games it's hard to tell what level the AI starts cheating at. I mean I could probably bang out an AI in about an hour, give it a 100000% resource bonus and have it beat every player out there. But that doesn't make it a good AI. It's hard to make a comparison because I haven't played any other turn based strategy games in a long time.... Thinking back... the last one I probably pl
At least you can get rid of captured orbital fleet managers... don't you hate it when you capture a planet from the computer and can't get rid of it's plantery defense thingy. God I hate that thing.
Well if your looking for a challenging AI... this game falls short. I was able to beat the AI on it's highest intelligence level in my second game once I figured out how to fully exploit star bases. (not highest overall level, but highest level before it gets resource bonus, playing that game on the highest now, least now it's putting up a fight with that +200% production bonus) The tactical AI is pretty bad IMHO. Missing easy targets and moving
Yah I too had to discover this the hard way too. I was getting really pissed at the game about why I couldn't get any defensive bonus for my ships. Mention this requirement in the guide would have saved me a lot of frustration. Though now that I know how to use it the game is painfuly easy hehe Fly in with a fleet of small ships, and like 12 contructors. Drop a starbase full upgrades. Computer never knows what hit it <img src="http:
I'm pretty sure that luck is refering to the rolls in battle.... Though that's just an educated guess.
Why can't the downloads be broken down into smaller components? It would save on download time and the one I waited three hours to get didn't even work. How's that? If it takes 6 hours for you to download it normally and it's broken into say 6 parts.... 1+1+1+1+1+1=6 What exac
This is the third letter of this kind. Any more letters and I will have no choice but to proceed with legal remedies under the anti spam acts. LOL some people I'm tempted to send this letter as well to him just to laugh at his lack of available recourse <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_
Well if you feel that strongly about it. Why not just download it AND buy it. You get the game, they get their money, and you don't have to deal with starforce... It's win win.
It's a bug with one of the two ships. I had the bug a couple of times when I was playing the base version, but haven't seen it since updating. Now whether or not it's gone or I just haven't had it happen again.....
Click on the ship then click on where you want it to go........
My computer is missing very exspensive parts that are needed for internet acess. $13?? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822998004
The bug is the turns not really ending. Watch the date, it won't advance (even though something move about and others get their movment points back......) Just keep smacking the turn button till they move, that's about all you can do till they fix the game.
But if you plan to buy tech your going to need good diplomacy while not as hard to get as research still uses up resources. And buying tech will always leave you a step behind the computer.
once 1.1 rolls out I hope most peopel will shut up on the forums Or... they'll be even more bugs for us to complain about. One wonders how they miss so so SO many bugs. Not even hard to find bugs, bugs that you can't help but notice in the normal course of game play.
I can confirm the first half of your report; it happens to me all the time (I exclusively use sensor ships) Luckily it's as easy as clicking back on your sensor ship to get the full range back. As for the second half, I don't lose them very often (I normally make them pretty quick ) so I can't say I've encountered that problem.
Personally I like to concentrate my build power on a handful of planets. Basically cover the entire planet with factories and crank out the starships in one turn. Duel systems are especially nice when I can get the most out of the star bases supporting them.
Must be something else.
