I think the studio is currently working on an action RPG that will be announced closer to the end of the year, so another King's Bounty "main game" doesn't seem likely at least for a while. But with the development tools released, there should be plenty of user-created content to look forward too. :)

Yes, it is an expansion, not a sequel. There will be two versions of it: only the expansion (requires Armored Princess) and a stand-alone GOTY version that comes with Armored Princess included. There are new missions, the editor, and generally plenty of new content. The site that the original poster linked has more information. :) The expansion is fairly inexpensive (under 20 dollars/euros).

GamersGate and Steam both have it for pre-order (and a 15% discount at GG), so it seems likely that Impulse will also have it - seeing that they have the two previous games as well :)Might also want to ask over at the publisher's forum ; they respond quickly. I'm very much looking forward to it, too! :)

Has anyone here played Grotesque Tactics? If you did, what were your impressions? How well does the AI play? It looks like an interesting SRPG, but I haven't been able to find really insightful reviews so far. Might end up buying it anyway, but if the AI doesn't offer a fair challenge, I may skip it.

I don't see the value in kicking people who are already down. It doesn't add any value to these forums, it doesn't make anyone feel better, and it doesn't contribute to a positive atmosphere. Brad has already claimed responsibility and admitted to mistakes. Going on and on about it doesn't really change the past, but it may very well make things worse in the future.

Though I understand the trouble of developers or publishers of niche games. The games need to be released early to recover some of the expenses of the development, and to create the funds for continued development. I have the manual for Dominions 3, and a serial key, but the CD got scratched by the cat, and Shrapnel has been most unhelpful when I tried to get a replacement a couple years ago. From what I gathered, this was mostly because I had purchased the game from a German retailer that they apparently didn't "like" (or had issues with, i.e. didn't provide Shrapnel with customer information). It didn't matter that I had the actual manual *and* the serial key and really only needed a download link. :)

Stardock might as well have added a text mode interface, as visually appealing as that "cloth map" is![/quote] It's certainly a workaround that is sufficient for a little while until the issue has been addressed. The cloth map mode isn't that terrible, and not quite comparable to a text mode interface. :) (Hey, I still play text adventures!)

I really like these forums, too. The level of maturity strikes me as higher than average, there's plenty of good discussion going on, and I often spot posts that crack me up. :) I also like the technical aspects -- the board's accessible and usable, and it loads quickly. You're all appreciated, and you don't need patches!

Good news on the performance issues having been corrected! The memory leaks have been preventing me from playing a lot more lately, so i'm definitely looking forward to the patch. Thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing! It is appreciated. :)

I think the old manuals just added to the whole experience, setting and creating the atmosphere. But maybe that's just old school thinking and most people just want to play a game, not have a more "complete", immersing experience. For example, I finally decided to pick up The Witcher, an RPG that I had wanted to play for a couple of years. Bought it at GG for twenty Euro, and now I'm facing a 11 GB download. That'll take me a few days since my connection is slow and I need it for work

On a side note, I've had major trouble getting back into party-based RPGs ever since the later games of the Ultima series, and especially Ultima Online. Yes, I know, it's been well over a decade, but somehow party-based RPGs just don't work for me anymore.
