I have been experiementing with a slower colony ship build schedual with colony ships with two Colony modules. The AI's seem to be in no particular rush for worlds. It seems to me that the colonys colonized with 1000 people seem to get profitable much faster. Anyone have thoughts on this. Duh

I put a Class designator before each name. (ACiv) all civilian class ships with a discreptive name i.e. (ACiv) GrapesoWrath, (ACiv) Handyman, (ACiv) Trashauler, (ACiv) Blackleg (get 10pts to figure out where thats from. (MLF) Tiny (names usally Peashooter, Misquito and Hornet) Beam Missle Mass (MHF) Small (Names, usally Phantom, Mustang, Hadrian) Beam Mass Missle (MCR) Medium (Names, U

Yup happened to me. Could not trade with anyone. In away it made my position stronger than weaker I believe. The loss of trade was ok but a space empire can function without it. The Dregain swallowed up the Altarian, Torians, and Aceans so it was just down to us two. No great loss the UP is as about as useful as the UN (which is as useful as an inflammed appendix). The werid thing is I won an influence victery on that. They had voted that 2 module law. Its a net gain when they do it. I

Got you guys one better. How about this the AIA (international architechural association) and the Disablities act has people design handicapped access into ... way for it... explosive storage and heavy industry. I have never seen or heard of one working in that feild nor do I think they would hire one but because of liablity it has to be put in. It all started with lawyers... you can sue him. John

Well personally I think that the Good choices in the moral choices you have in colonization period are sorta stupid. Example: the rabib space wombats who are actually a weapon. The good choice is let the poor blood thirsty alien wanna be critters live and take a big hit on population and treasury. IIRC every land has at one time had some type of bounty on vicious animals. Seems like this would be an evil choice... I dont care what happens to my people. The good choice to be is nuke it from a

Well I find it slightly annoying to have empires surrender without one space battle. I had the Dregian, Torian, Korx all surrender to the Drath. The Aceans surrendered because they started a war with me to the Drath too. Then the Yor attacked my ally the Altarian. Came in with my fleet of 21 Lp and a invasion fleet of 15 LP took one planet and they rolled over. It might be too easy for them to surrender. Seems to me that only two races go for a land grab to in Battle of the Gods, t

And thats why I like to play Battle of the Gods. Oooooh kay lets start pumping out Apollo Cruiser, ThunderChilde Battle ships and a couple of Genocide Class Dreadnaughts. Admittedly you got to have your industrial capacity Way up and not to be afraid of putting everything into military spending. But the sooner you get out from under the thumb of the pirates the faster you will recover from the other races. I hate the spy Mega event. And I have learned sometimes it cheaper to destoy

sorry hit the wrong button. I have found tiny hulls extremely handy. Normally I play in Gigantic Universes. Example a Battle of the Gods. 1] Tiny hull is the first one I build on any given planet. Why? a] quick build that elimates cheap shot invasions. b] Two Hyper Warp Mrk III and one Hyper warp mark II and Ultra support with two doom weapon mass drivers gives good speed and a 32 hp punch. c} this is the only class I have found where the mass we

I have played it for a while and well, theres a pattern to the game. When you have a good start the game is over. For instance last game I have played was a Battle of the Gods on Challenging in a Gigantic Galaxy. The human player does not get any alignment bonus in this game because the game does not allow you to choose an alignment like it does the AI. Fair enough. But the AI does stupid build choices. It goes for short term bonus and for some reason builds tons of farms and Res

Basically I hope they put the tactical similator as turn based. It is too confussing to do RT fights. Plus that is where carriers could be developed. I am sooo damn tired of all the RT games when you have huge empires it does not work well small ones ok but in my opion small games are over before they start (ending about the time people get Nano Rippers and medium ships.

Yeah try capturing one of there little frigates without powered armore it tould five battle ships and mover often than nought they went boom. What I liked doing was keep a few captured ships around and have them in the fleet as damage magnets (penal battalion ships). the game hated thouse and would target them lot more than my other ships. The next on the hit list were the boarding ships then learder captain ships, then my carriers, then the rest. They always saved the missles ships for las

Heck I would be thrilled with just a turn based tactical combat with ship inititive. That way if you get attacked first you still have a chance of survival if you can get a ship in the other ships blind spot. Note all weapons should just fire forward unless placed in a diff arc. I would take a massive overhaul of the way the AI designes ships. JOhn

Byran its not that hard. I mean just get or steal all the soldier techs you can. Battleship designed like this, Augmented Engines Troop Pods Heavy Armor if it will fit Fill the rest of the ship up with Neutron Blasters (Death Rays better). Have at least 3 or 4 of these Softening ship all the defense tech and offense tech you can cram into it Fill the ship with Netron blasters. 2 of theses at least one carrier

Meklar I always prefered tractor beams, augmented engtiens and heavy armor and troop pods and transporters when I got them, because one ship could capture multiple nonantarean ships. With some missle ships with EMG to back them up. I found when you put EMG opn your missle the puter suddenly takes a intrest in antimissle and missle defense weapons lowering the numbers of heavy weapons on a ship. This weekend I dug out my MOO2 and played it. And yes I had a dedicated flee
