We are looking into this bug. socially hazardous, Does the bug happen with any ship? Have you tried upgrading a user-made design that you previously created? Does that crash as well? Please let us know. Thank you.
it only happens to the starting default terran ships (colony, constructor, space miner). i need to research ion drive for any of my custom ships to start showing up and i haven't made it that far

yeah, i just started new games as different races, did the CTRL+N, and the only one that took me to the desktop was the terran. but if you don't do a CTRL+N using the terran, it doesn't crash. at least it didn't for me.
k. i sent everything in. i have narrowed it down to the Terrans as all other races can upgrade ships in the shipyard just fine.
i am using beta version 0.91[b].001 (updated this morning). whenever i do CTRL + N and then go to upgrade any ship, the game crashes to the desktop. this is reproducible. here is my debug, but i can't see anything in there that is abnormal. I have a nasty graphics error. Whenever I use kryo's 10 hard point part I get an error. i do use Kryo' hull mods but not the hardpoint pieces. though i've never seen this before and i have always been using his mods.
Common problem with nVida Cards. this happens to me as well and i don't use anything nvidia. i have a hd 2900xt (w\ the latest drivers). this only started to happen within the last 4 patches. at least with me it did, but at first it was only one part.. then 2 or 3... then it got much worse with the latest DA patchs, specifically (1.70c[a].001 and 1.70c[b].001), where my ships were looking much like the ones in the images posted above. i did a
Overclocking shortens the life of your system um.. no. bad clocking shortens the life of your system. i've been clocking for about 10 yrs and have only lost one mb due to bad clocking. but then again, it was a gigabyte board so i didn't expect much. also, i wouldn't buy anything that was factory oc'd as the overclocking generally needs some type of utility to help it along. in which case, it is not a true clock and we all know that software some
i was playing DA last night, went to do a manual save and the beast crashed on me with an "out of memory" error. not too sure how this could happen as i do have 4gb of ocz ddr3 pc3-10666 gold dual channel. i tested each slice of memory before posting this and there is nothing wrong with any of them. this has happened more than a few times in the last week but only decided to post now about it, cause as a gamer i know that there are issues with any game that there is and was hoping that
I think it has something to do with the way the download/install accesses the system through Windows. It be giving off a false signal for the reboot. yes, i can see that happening once, maybe twice. but for it to happen the last three updates concerns me a little. are you running a 64bit os? Nonetheless there has been no problems with this from my end. no problems on this end either, that i have noticed.
it happened again. i updated to 1.60.089 last night and was told that my system settings have been changed and that i need to reboot for the effects to take place. as per my first post, why? what did it change? the update for GC2 and the heightmaps didn't require a reboot. so, what gives? i can post my dxdiag if it will help. though i don't think it will.
thanx for the quick reply it's only happened the last two updates though. i was fine before the last two. who knows? maybe it has something to do with running a 64bit os. plus i just added 2gb more of ram... so that could be it too. i'll post here again if it happens with the next update.
i just update to the latest patch (1.59[b].098). now it tells me i need to reboot. this happened to me on the last pdated as well. my question is, why?
i started a new game, played 50 turns or so, saved my game, reloaded my game after work, now all the custom ships i had made prior to that reload are not showing up. actually only one does and it was from a earlier game, and i had deleted the ship itself. though i'm not to sure if the save is playable if anyone tests it because of the mods i use. i guess there is only one way to find out. here's my debug: Debug Message: Version beta 2 last updated on: Fri Dec 8 09:58:23
never mine. i just read the change log. can this thread be destroyed please.
DA beta 2 i play with super hive enabled as my power. it says i have unlimited range. this was true in the first beta but not in the second. anyone else seeing this?
it seems everything is ok now after i began a new game. once the miner is out of the roid field, it travels as it should.
Any ship that enters an asteroid field will lose any remaining movement points for the turn, and will stay at 1 point per turn until it finishes a turn outside an asteroid field. never knew that. but then again, i didn't read up on the changes made to DA. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-
i have made a couple custom space miners with different movment points, but after they do their work in any astroid field, they drop down to one movement point. and continue to use that one point until i upgrade them to a different version. but... even after the upgrade, and i send it out to do it's job, it will again drop to only one movement point after it is finished the job. there is nothing in the debug about why it's happening. if you need screens, i can provide those.
this has been around since 1.20XXXX https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=122959#954915 and https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=125154#975748 when i first saw this, i was running a intel single core 3.2. now i'm running a intel 3.2 dual core, 940 to be exact, and it still arises every time a planet converts to my ownership. and no... i did not send it a bug report or anything like that. to me, it's just a minor incovenience. but it was e
editpad by JGsoft is the one i use. and it also does many other types of files. awesome text editor.
i'd personally like to see the number pad enabled within the ship yard. 2, 4, 6, and 8 would be to move left/right/forward/backward 1, 3, 7, and 9 would be to rotate left/right/up/down as well as use of the mouse for fine tuning. just a thought.
When you come across this bug, if you save your game and then load it again, is the minimap still displayed incorrectly? no. at least it cleared up for me. i just alt/tabbed to fix it whenever it happened, and it seemed to happen to me as a planet defected to the dark side. but i still haven't seen it occure in 1.3 .016.
i have already posted about this here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=122959#954915 though i didn't post a debug. i was using 1.2 at the time and i haven't seen it in the latest build yet.
ordered mine as soon as i saw i could order it. i'm just stupified at the support SD gives to it's customers. just awesome people... keep up the good work p.s. please, have the devs autograph my cd version before you send it my way. could be worth money some day p.p.s. is it
i think i've narrowed it down to when this takes place, it does it only when someone elses planet flips over to my control. this is the first time i've seen this and i've played close to 300 games since i started playing GC2. alt/tabbing out... then back in seems to fix it. well.. at least till the next flip.
